Bug ID: 36826 Summary: Wine and WindowMaker don't work well together Product: Wine Version: 1.7.19 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: xylem2020@gmail.com
Basically applications running under Wine have a habbit of moving downward at an angle. This does not happen with all programs, but a good majority (i.e. Steam).

--- Comment #1 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- Screenshot? WindowMaker version? Have you filed a bug with WindowMaker?

--- Comment #2 from Gethyn ThomasQuail xylem2020@gmail.com --- Video: http://youtu.be/wNKbjnhGFoc
Programs: Steam and Half-Life 1.1.1.0
WindowMaker version: 0.95.5
Video Notes:
Steam moves by just moving the cursor in and out of the program frame, could be related to VGUI but VGUI behavies different under Wine than the native client.
Half-Life has the same moving window issue but happens after going to the menu and back to the game. I keep doing it over and over in the video to show how it can get very annoying over time.
I also show how Wine and WM interact when I check off Wine to use the window manager. As you can see, it is an awful experience (no alt tab, windows always on top, etc).
I do not believe this to be a bug with WindowMaker as literally no other program suffers from this. Only applications running through Wine have this issue. I've also heard of this bug happening on fvwm, so this too would lead to me to believe it's an issue with Wine itself.

--- Comment #3 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for over a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.51 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #4 from winetest@luukku.com --- Is this bug still valid? Sounds upstream bug to me.
Can you test against 1.8 or 1.9 series of wine or wine-staging?

--- Comment #5 from joaopa jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr --- No news from the OP since 6 years. No way to test easily. Can an administrator close this bug as ABANDONED?
