The very recent WoW-0.2.0.10026-to-0.2.0.10048-enGB-downloader.exe crashes when
it starts to download a patch. Older versions of the downloader do not.

That's IUPnPDeviceFinder, which is in upnp.dll, which Wine does not implement.

What happens if you set the Windows version to Windows 2000?

Still an issue in wine-1.1.32-260-gf222a16.
