Running the installer with wine-1.6-rc4-52-g9a0b434 gives same results.
This seems to happen regardless of whether .net 3.5 sp1 is installed.

--- Comment #1 from Andrey Gusev andrey.goosev@gmail.com 2013-08-19 10:54:05 CDT --- Wine 1.7.0 without any patches. Clean wineprefix. Just now installing Disk1. RGSC installed successfully. Launched from setup.exe Game on 2 DVDs Extended Edition.

--- Comment #2 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2013-08-19 11:20:03 CDT --- I'll try a squeaky-clean build of 1.7.0 tonight.
I'm testing with the 2-dvd "Complete Edition"; sha1sum for first disc is c77288846be0ab9b9580d7c0add3531d60d72453 /dev/sr0

--- Comment #3 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2013-08-19 12:58:31 CDT --- Does using the nohide mount option help?

--- Comment #4 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2013-08-19 22:19:29 CDT --- A clean 32 bit build of wine-1.7.0 didn't help, it still crashed, complaining err:ole:TLB_ReadTypeLib Loading of typelib L"Z:\media\dank\Disk1\ISSetup.dll" failed with error 2
But wine-1.4.1 got past the problem. So I guess my next move is a bisect.
Mounting with unhide (there is no nohide?) showed exactly the same files and directories.

--- Comment #5 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for over a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.37 or newer) wine? If so, please attach the terminal output in 1.7.37 (see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log).
