Bug #: 29419 Summary: Total War: Shogun 2 virtually freezes with certain graphics on screen Product: Wine Version: 1.3.34 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: maquis196@yahoo.co.uk Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 38076 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=38076 Brief part of the error messages
At certain points during the game (seemingly random with whats on screen) the game will suddenly drop to single digit fps. With the attached output pouring into console.
Only quitting the game get's rid of it, and the same point in the game works as usual.
Is there any settings I can change that would work around this?

--- Comment #1 from Christopher May maquis196@yahoo.co.uk 2011-12-22 18:15:33 CST --- I enabled "AlwaysOffScreen" which made the game playable for a good couple of hours with no problems (before it would suffer the bug every other turn almost - so massive improvement)
but now the game crashes with;
err:d3d9:IDirect3DDevice9Impl_CreateVertexDeclaration Failed to allocate vertex declaration memory. wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x00000018 at address 0xf6d49fab (thread 0053), starting debugger... wine client error:53: read: Bad address Shutting down. . .

--- Comment #3 from Rico kgbricola@web.de 2012-08-06 09:01:44 CDT --- AlwaysOffScreen is now by default enabled.
Is this still an issue? What's your graphic card and driver version?
