Summary: Deep Burner can't find CD Drive when blank disk is inserted Product: Wine Version: 1.1.4 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: ToddAndMargo@verizon.net
Hi All,
Deep Burner 1.9 can not find CD/DVD Drive when blank disk is inserted.
If you put a non-blank disk in the drive and do a Linux mount before starting Deep Burner, Deep Burner can find the CD/DVD drive without problem.
[the free] Deep Burner can be downloaded from: http://www.deepburner.com/?r=download
Many thanks, -T

--- Comment #1 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2008-09-08 07:33:52 --- What distro? When you insert blank CD and run your program, what does 'ls ~/.wine/dosdevices' say?

--- Comment #2 from Todd Chester ToddAndMargo@verizon.net 2008-09-08 10:59:39 --- I am using CentOS 5.2 (RHEL 5.2 clone)
$ uname -r 2.6.18-92.1.10.el5
[todd@rn1 ~]$ ls -al ~/.wine/dosdevices total 8 drwxr-xr-x 2 todd users 4096 Sep 7 19:01 . drwxr-xr-x 5 todd users 4096 Sep 7 21:07 .. lrwxrwxrwx 1 todd users 10 Aug 30 10:46 c: -> ../drive_c lrwxrwxrwx 1 todd users 9 Aug 30 10:49 d:: -> /dev/scd0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 todd users 14 Aug 31 20:56 e: -> /mnt/TripStick lrwxrwxrwx 1 todd users 9 Aug 31 20:55 e:: -> /dev/sdc1 lrwxrwxrwx 1 todd users 14 Aug 31 19:23 j: -> /home/OurStuff lrwxrwxrwx 1 todd users 1 Aug 30 10:46 z: -> /
And here are some errors.
1) I have an "e:" and an "e::"
2) "/mnt/TripStick" is a mount point for a USB memory stick. Not used in wine
3) "e::" is flashing (means no link location)
4) "/dev/sdc1" is not my DVD drive, /dev/scd0 is. /dev/sdc1 is the device for my USB stick. I have four USB sticks, why did it pick this one?
5) wincfg shows the e: /mnt/TripStick point (I have removed this before)

--- Comment #3 from Todd Chester ToddAndMargo@verizon.net 2008-09-08 11:15:12 --- Did a bit of a clean up.
$ ls -ag ~/.wine/dosdevices total 8 drwxr-xr-x 2 users 4096 Sep 8 09:12 . drwxr-xr-x 5 users 4096 Sep 8 09:13 .. lrwxrwxrwx 1 users 10 Aug 30 10:46 c: -> ../drive_c lrwxrwxrwx 1 users 7 Sep 8 09:11 e: -> /mnt/cd lrwxrwxrwx 1 users 7 Sep 8 09:12 f: -> /mnt/cd lrwxrwxrwx 1 users 9 Sep 8 09:10 f:: -> /dev/scd0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 users 14 Aug 31 19:23 j: -> /home/OurStuff lrwxrwxrwx 1 users 1 Aug 30 10:46 z: -> /
"F:" does not show up in winecfg. And, Deep Burner still won't show the DVD drive, until I Linux mount the disk
