Summary: Test report submitted 634 times (automated attack?) Product: WineHQ Apps Database Version: unspecified Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: appdb-unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: dimesio@earthlink.net
I just logged into the AppDB, and the test report queue has 640 items. 634 of them are repeats of the same test report, submitted at a rate of about 3 per second starting February 08 2010 02:46:58 and ending February 08 2010 02:51:13.
Automated attack, or has the AppDB just gone nuts?

--- Comment #2 from Ken Sharp kennybobs@o2.co.uk 2010-02-08 07:30:05 --- Confirming, it's madness. No easy way to delete them either (not through the web interface anyway).

--- Comment #3 from Ken Sharp kennybobs@o2.co.uk 2010-02-08 07:41:10 --- This actually brings up another point which wasn't too much of a pain until now. It is possible for duplicate reports to be submitted, hence the hundreds that have been.
Would it be possible to assign a new test report a key, so that it can only be submitted once? A refresh tends to submit the same data twice resulting in a duplicate test report. If it's not a massive hassle, that is.

--- Comment #5 from Vitaliy Margolen vitaliy@kievinfo.com 2010-02-08 22:50:17 --- Should really limit test results to one per login per app per day. Also what's up with all of them being from anonymous user?

Either someone deleted the user, or the user deleted himself. Originally the display name said "James"; I didn't think to copy down the email address.
One test per login per user per day is a bit too strict. Some people test more than one distro. Setting the limit to two or three would accommodate them.

--- Comment #7 from zil zilforever@gmail.com 2010-06-13 10:52:18 --- Or one per user per wine version (not day) and no more then 3 distro for one app.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21639
--- Comment #8 from Ken Sharp kennybobs@o2.co.uk 2010-06-13 12:03:23 --- That makes no sense, many people test multiple distros and limiting to three makes even less sense. There are more than three types of kernel as a starter.

--- Comment #9 from Cedric cedric.dewijs@eclipso.eu --- I think 3 per day per user is far too low.
I've submitted 4 bugs a couple of days ago [1], and it's perfectly possible to come up with about 10-25 bugs per day if that's all I'm doing.
