Bug #: 34144 Summary: Guild Wars 2: Crash if minimized Product: Wine Version: 1.6 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: sworddragon2@aol.com Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 45411 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=45411 Console output
Since a few months I'm noticing that the game will crash (asking me to send a report to ArenaNet) after a while if I have minimized it (minimizing with Openbox's Iconify). This happens randomly after ~5-30 minutes. I have tried to find a reason for this but I'm not sure with my assumption: It seems the crash randomly appears if a map changes because it appeared on my system more frequently on fast changing maps.

sworddragon@ubuntu:~$ '/wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Guild Wars 2/Gw2.exe' -dx9single
don't do that. cd to the directory.
err:winediag:SECUR32_initNTLMSP ntlm_auth was not found or is outdated. Make sure that ntlm_auth >= 3.0.25 is in your path. Usually, you can find it in the winbind package of your distribution.
you should fix that.
Also, have you tested this on windows. It could very well be a game bug

don't do that. cd to the directory.
Is there a special reason for this? Normally on Wndows you don't need to do that too.
you should fix that.
What could happen if that is not fixed?
Also, have you tested this on windows. It could very well be a game bug
I have temporary fixed the both issues above and the crash still appears. Also I have asked a user to test this on Windows and the game never crashed for him. I don't even remember to have seen a bug report on any time about this on the official Guild Wars 2 forum.

Windows does that for you sometimes, depending on how you start application.

Depends on how secur32 is used.

Just to make sure, it's was a 64-bit system it was tested on?

My system? It is a 64 bit system. If you are asking for the architecture of the guy who tested it on windows: I don't know.

--- Comment #5 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for over a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.37 or newer) wine? If so, please attach the terminal output in 1.7.37 (see http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log).

--- Comment #6 from Guillaume R guillaumeraffin@free.fr --- This is no longer an issue with current versions of wine. I can minimize, switch to another desktop, maximize, hide, ... without any problem of any kind.
