Bug ID: 56947 Summary: Two display modes in KiriKiri games not working Product: Wine Version: 9.12 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: d3d Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: bugmetoo@protonmail.com Distribution: ---
Created attachment 76765 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=76765 Log on wine 9.12
KiriKiri games have three display modes, Direct3D, DirectDraw and GDI. Only GDI seems to work currently on wine. While some games give you the options to switch, others default to direct3d and hence nothing is displayed on the screen except for the top menu.
Trial: http://suezou.dyndns.org/dl2010/applique/sin/sin_trial.zip. The game will fail to launch due to another bug (https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35306). To fix that, put version.dll from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bw7GG2tkbT58UVNmU0xTSElQdlU/view into the game folder Steps: 1: Launch with 'LC_ALL=ja_JP.UTF-8 WINEDLLOVERRIDES="version.dll=n,b" wine 黄昏のシンセミア体験版.exe' 2: Press "画面" in the top bar 3: Hover over "表示方式" from the drop down menu 4: Choosing Direct3d or Direct Draw will display a blank screen while selecting GDI will render properly.

--- Comment #1 from Rafał Mużyło galtgendo@o2.pl ---
To fix that, put version.dll...
...or perhaps just patch the game - upstream acknowledged that problem with 64bit with a patch.

--- Comment #2 from Rafał Mużyło galtgendo@o2.pl --- Did you patch the game to 1.04 ? Not sure if it matters, just checking.
There seems to be no notable difference between all 3 modes, that is after you switch to fullscreen, then switch back - initially, there is some glitch that makes (for example) closing confirmation dialog display in the top left corner, partially covered by the main window content.
Also, consider adding author of currently last (23) comment in that old bug to CC, as he takes active part in wine development.

Yes but the patch works on the full game, not the trial.

Yes the game is patched to 1.04.
There seems to be no notable difference between all 3 modes
Meaning you get graphics on all three modes?

--- Comment #4 from bugmetoo@protonmail.com --- Apologies. This seems to be a wayland bug. The other modes works fine on i3 but do not Fedora Wayland and Hyprland.

--- Comment #5 from Fabian Maurer dark.shadow4@web.de --- Seems to work fine for me on wine-9.12 X11 driver and KDE Plasma 6.1.2 Wayland session.

--- Comment #6 from bugmetoo@protonmail.com --- Could it be a driver issue then? I have an nvidia 1080ti. I'm assuming you're using AMD?

--- Comment #7 from Fabian Maurer dark.shadow4@web.de --- I have an AMD RX 5700, yes.
