Maybe not part of the problem, but this file is a remnant of older Securom versions. You should check the game with ProtectionId to see what DRM the game is using.

--- Comment #2 from sworddragon2@aol.com 2013-01-03 21:36:14 CST --- I have now scanned all the installed files and the CD but ProtectionId doesn't show me any results in the default configuration. Have I to do something special or does this mean there couldn't be any protection found?

--- Comment #3 from GyB gyebro69@gmail.com 2013-01-03 21:52:15 CST --- Have you re-used an existing wineprefix? Maybe some other games were installed in that prefix that contained securom.

--- Comment #4 from sworddragon2@aol.com 2013-01-04 00:30:40 CST --- You mean on installing the game? There are even some other games installed on the same profile.

Could you retest? 1.7.30 is something like 2 years behind in development or something like that.
I just looked into appdb and the test results are even older than this. The component seems to be ddraw. There is basically nothing we can do here without owning the game or getting feedback with more recent wine.

--- Comment #9 from sworddragon2@aol.com --- The issue is that I have created so many tickets on software projects in the past (possibly over 1000) and still have many things on my todo list (over 600) that I'm giving priority to some things. Just think what would happen if every of those tickets would request every 1-2 years a retest and hope for RNG - this would be hard to handle.
Things that have a low priority are tickets which do automatically request a retest (for example LibreOffice does this with ~yearly automated messages) and if already a retest was done.
For this specific case if I would post an up-to-date terminal output of this issue it is unlikely that anything changes soon and possibly I'm requested to do this in the future again. This would waste time I could invest in more important things. But of course if somebody wants to explicitly fix this issue and requires an up-to-date terminal output and asks me to provide one this ticket would then have a much more higher priority. Otherwise a retest for this ticket will be done at some point - but this can need a long time.
I was not sure if I should post this at all but since I'm seeing that you are often active in my tickets it might make things easier for you and also this gives me the convenience to link to this post if required.

--- Comment #10 from joaopa jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr --- No download. Reporter does not want to test it. This bug can be closed as ABANDONED.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32641
--- Comment #11 from sworddragon2@aol.com --- Since the game is not freeware or such it is normally not possible to provide a download link. Also this bug is not abandoned - I'm still reading every change to tickets I'm participating in being made. This ticket has just still a low priority for me but if explicitly required I would invest the work and retest the bug - details are in comment #9.

--- Comment #12 from joaopa jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr --- Can you retest this game with wine-4.3 in a fresh wineprefix?
I found that this game suffers of a bu in amstream. With a native amstream, the game complains about missing vidc I420 codec
0009:fixme:gstreamer:GSTOutPin_CheckMediaType (0x206ad88) stub 0009:err:msvideo:ICLocate Required media codec 'vidc I420' not found! 0009:fixme:strmbase:TransformFilterImpl_QueryInterface No interface for >{37d84f60-42cb-11ce-8135-00aa004bb851}!
But I do not have the line

--- Comment #13 from Béla Gyebrószki gyebro69@gmail.com --- Did you try the game with Windows version set to Windows XP in winecfg? I can reproduce the crash in Win7 mode, but the game starts properly when Windows version is set to WinXP.
AFAIK the game has known problems when running on newer Windows. Windows users suggest to use either DxWnd or dgVoodoo: https://sourceforge.net/p/dxwnd/discussion/general/thread/0bb3571a/
https://www.play-old-pc-games.com/2014/08/06/breath-of-fire-iv/
I managed to start the game in Win7 mode using DxWnd (but performance was considerably slower than in Win XP mode without DxWnd).
Tested in Wine-4.5.

Thanks for testing, I tested and it wouldn`t start for me without no-cd fix. Anyway, it seems it`s fixed indeed in current wine-6.5. In earlier wine-version got an instant crash, now it starts fine and I can see some (vintage) intro video
