Bug ID: 43624 Summary: Crysis 3: Mouse hits an invisible barrier Product: Wine-staging Version: 2.15 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: jojos_band@gmx.net CC: erich.e.hoover@wine-staging.com, michael@fds-team.de, sebastian@fds-team.de Distribution: ---
In Crysis 3 v1.0.1.3, the mouse hits invisible horizontal (limits rotation) and potentially vertical (limits camera up/down rotation) barriers.
Setting registry entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->Wine->DirectInput->MouseWarpOverride=force mode it only worse: The mouse jumps around in both, menus and during gameplay.

--- Comment #1 from Johannes jojos_band@gmx.net --- It seems this issue only happens with Wayland. I could not reconstruct it with Xorg.

It seems this issue only happens with Wayland. I could not reconstruct it with Xorg.
Most likely this issue is not Wine Staging specific, so moving to the Wine product. In fact it could also be a bug in Wayland, but it needs further debugging to track this down. Did you have a chance to test it with some other games? I would be suprised if this issue only occurs with Crysis.

I'd likewise be surprised - but unfortunately, I don't have too many other FPS games available. Hopefully somebody else contributes here with test results of other FPS games in wine with Wayland ...

--- Comment #4 from Christian F.K. Schaller uraeus@linuxrising.org --- I actually just had the same experience with World of Warcraft. Only the middle third is available for mouse movement. Interestingly enough the problem goes away if I press the 'windows' key to key the GNOME 3 overview and then choose the Warcraft window again.

--- Comment #5 from bocadillodeatun fernando@gluegarage.com --- In may case, the issue *also* happens in Xorg.
In fact, the mouse behavior (at least for me) is a bit more complex than that.
