I installed Electric Quilt 6 just fine, but I am having problems getting it to run.
I experience with wine is limited, any help would be appreciated.

The main error in that log wine: Call from 0x7b844360 to unimplemented function gdiplus.dll.GdipSetClipRectI, aborting might be fixed with wine-0.9.60.
Can you delete your ~/.wine directory, install the app with wine-0.9.60 and no native DLLs, and see if it's really fixed? If it's still busted, attach a new log and tell us the symptoms.

Not really.. still very slow, drawing is slow, response time slow
