--- Comment #10 from Anthony Jagers noonetinone@gmail.com --- Far Cry 4 for me is much further along than your experience. Pagans face use to look like that in the earlier 2.0 releases. Are you using the staging patches? I applied the sample_c_lz patch.
How is the audio for you? Mine cuts out after the cut scenes.
Check out my screen shots at Bug 43170.

--- Comment #11 from Alexey tall89@mail.ru --- No, I do not use patches, there are problems with the sound, after talking with Pagan, and meeting Sabal, when Ajay gets into the car, here after the restart of the game the sound disappears, plus the problem in the main menu of the game, it becomes very small Size, In this case, if you put the quality of graphics at low settings, then the characters' faces look normal

--- Comment #13 from Anthony Jagers noonetinone@gmail.com --- Update: You suggested high detail. I have tried that. The good news is the colors are correct for me. I noticed bad performance with high detail.
The patch is here. Apply it after the staging patches. https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=58404

--- Comment #19 from Anthony Jagers noonetinone@gmail.com --- It is a patch applied during wine compilation. It may or may not even help you. Compiling wine may not be for you. You should look for a wine repository with the staging patches applied.
I mentioned the patch just to point out how my wine build may be different from yours.

--- Comment #20 from Sebastian Lackner sebastian@fds-team.de --- * Please provide proper terminal output, without setting any WINEDEBUG variables, and attach the full output as file attachment. Also, please do not filter FIXME lines. Take a look the following link how to do it correctly:
https://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#How_can_I_get_a_debugging_log_.28a.k.a._terminal...
* Please always test with a fresh wine prefix (without any experimental Staging features enabled). For more information on how to use different Wine prefixes, take a look at:
https://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#Can_I_store_the_virtual_Windows_installation_som...
* You didn't provide any information if this issue is a Wine Staging regression or not. If this bug is present in both, the Development and Staging version, you should use the "Wine" product and not "Wine Staging".

--- Comment #21 from Anthony Jagers noonetinone@gmail.com --- Sebastian,
I tested the game with 2.10(s) and the game is fine except for Dead Air being randomly painted and filled.
Bug 43170.

--- Comment #22 from Adam Bolte abolte@systemsaviour.com --- Created attachment 61194 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=61194 wine-staging 3.6, Ubuntu 16.04, AMDGPU Pro 17.50, far_cry-4.log.xz
I'm seeing significant texture corruption also on an AMD R9 Fury X. It doesn't matter if I'm using Mesa 18.0.0 or AMDGPU Pro 17.50. This is the log created from a clean wine-staging 3.6 build after starting Uplay, switching to the game directory and running:
wine FarCry4.exe &> ~/far_cry-4.log
In the past I have cherry-picked the patches required to get Uplay working onto vanilla wine, and still had the same result. This is not a regression since I've been checking this game regularly ever since it was able to first launch under Wine, and never seen better results.
I too have no further audio after the opening video (before the main menu loads, just before the initial "Press any key" prompt).

--- Comment #23 from Adam Bolte abolte@systemsaviour.com --- Created attachment 61195 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=61195 wine-staging 3.6, Ubuntu 16.04, AMDGPU Pro 17.50, menu-video.png
Some minor corruption in the main menu when highlighting different video options. Aside from this, the menu graphics seem to work perfectly.

--- Comment #24 from Adam Bolte abolte@systemsaviour.com --- Created attachment 61196 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=61196 wine-staging 3.6, Ubuntu 16.04, AMDGPU Pro 17.50, spawn_point.png
I 100% completed the game under Windows over three years ago, and Uplay synchronises my saved game from the Uplay servers. This is now my initial spawn point and how the game initially looks for me.

--- Comment #25 from Adam Bolte abolte@systemsaviour.com --- Created attachment 61197 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=61197 wine-staging 3.6, Ubuntu 16.04, AMDGPU Pro 17.50, nearby_vehicle.png
Here you can see a utility vehicle which I was able to locate using the mini map. Aside from the big square blocks covering the rear window and the left of the screen, you can see in the background the lines going through the air. This looks to me like bug #43170 which someone incorrectly closed as abandoned... probably it should just be marked as a duplicate of this bug though.
Note I have had to resize the spawn_point and nearby_vehicle images to 1920x1080 (down from 2560x1440) since even at maximum compression the PNG files were slightly over 5Mb each.
Also worth pointing out that I have also tried the aforementioned sample_c_lz patch against wine-staging 3.6, and it made no difference.

--- Comment #26 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- I'm seeing similar (mostly flickering, I don't see the dark characters, though), using wine-9.15, with Intel graphics:
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa Intel(R) UHD Graphics 620 (WHL GT2) OpenGL core profile version string: 4.6 (Core Profile) Mesa 24.1.6-1 OpenGL core profile shading language version string: 4.60 OpenGL version string: 4.6 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 24.1.6-1 OpenGL shading language version string: 4.60 OpenGL ES profile version string: OpenGL ES 3.2 Mesa 24.1.6-1 OpenGL ES profile shading language version string: OpenGL ES GLSL ES 3.20
Also tried: wine-9.15 + csmt=off wine-9.15-staging + csmt=on wine-9.15-staging + csmt=off
But the issue remains the same.
