Bug #: 30991 Summary: Internal Error - Invalid Parameter Received Product: Wine Version: 1.5.6 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: gabor.me@gmail.com Classification: Unclassified
Running any programs with wine I get an error window popping up stating "Internal Error - Invalid Parameter Received". No idea what this is.
Can not use wine. Before I re-install wine I thought to put it here.
Not sure what I should attach if anything. Let me know if you need any data.

Yes, it is 12.04 and I've checked on the links. No duplicate found there.
I have downloaded wine from repositories.

--- Comment #3 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2012-06-24 09:40:37 CDT --- If you have a 32 bit system, please try building wine yourself, and do a regression search.
Otherwise, what's the last version that worked?

I have a 64 bit system. In previous version of Ubuntu Wine just worked fine. Did not pay attention there to the version number of wine. Since I have 12.04 wine does not work.
I can of course re-install wine to see if that would work. I am not using wine that often so I can live with the error for now if anyone wants to go into fixing it. I can keep giving you data or log files or whatever you want. If no-one wants to go into that, then I will just re-install. Just considered that any bug should be reported so we can prevent it happen other times.
Let me know what you want. :)

does that work? If it fails, please attach terminal output.

--- Comment #8 from Gabor Toth gabor.me@gmail.com 2012-06-24 16:00:22 CDT --- I have done that. First I got a message in a window which I made a screenshot of and attached. It was some installation missing which then installed. There were a bunch of messages in the terminal and I have copied that and attached. Then the NOTEPAD opened fine.
Let me know if more is needed.

--- Comment #9 from Dan Kegel dank@kegel.com 2012-06-24 16:28:21 CDT --- If notepad opened fine, sounds like your problem is fixed, and it was a corrupt .wine directory somehow.

It's asking you to install wine-mono (not sure if Ubuntu has a package for this or not), see http://wiki.winehq.org/Mono
In any case, that isn't an error, and notepad works, so this is invalid. If you still have issues with an application, retest in a clean WINEPREFIX before reporting a bug.
