Summary: Sparkle effect scaled incorrectly to be huge (World of Warcraft) Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: trivial Priority: P3 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: joshorjeff@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=23955) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=23955) Large Sparkles
The 'sparkle' effect for lootable objects is often scaled wrongly so that it is far too big for the object it is highlighting- eg. small plant with sparkle effect the size of a tree.
This affects both -d3d and -opengl modes. Many objects have the sparkles correctly scaled, but specific things are consistently wrong. For example certain herbs. The objects affected seem to be completely consistent: if an object has correct sparkles it always will have correct sparkles, and if it has a massive cloud of sparkles, it always will have that (very annoying!).
The screenshot shows some small plants in the Night Elf starting area that do this so you can see what I mean. It is very much more obvious when actually playing the game (its hard to screenshot something that is constantly flashing and changing), but you can at least see in the screenshot the height of the sparkles, and the size they get to. The same thing happens on certain gathering quests, making them ridiculously easy because the sparkles are visible over the top of rocks, hills etc. due to being so massive.
This happens using 1.1.30 and all previous versions for some months (over a year maybe of previous versions).

Video card is an 8600GT. I have an ATI card that I'll test this with when I have time, assuming the card still works.
