As far as the problem of wine trying to write to "usr/lib/menu/wine" I really have no ideas. There is probabably a bug there, but it would require that you look at the code in the debugger which you can't with the striped rpm. If you want to install from source its not that hard.
If I understand you correctly you were able to install the program. So if this is the case could you mark the bug as resolved (probably WORKSFORME) and start individual bug reports for any problems that you encounter actually running the program.
