I started with a clean prefix, configured a virtual display and installed the
game without any issue.

When I start the game the sound plays but the virtual display stays black.

The game works when the current work directory is the games directory and the
game crashes as reported when started from somewhere else.

On Windows is it not uncommon that applications do not work if the current
working directory does not match the executable directory. Since most people
either use the start menu, desktop icon or explorer they do not notice the
problem. I therefore close this bug as invalid. If you can proof that it works
on Windows with a different working directory, feel free to reopen the bug
report.
