Summary: Absolute Poker won't start anymore Product: Wine Version: 1.2-rc3 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: critical Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: truenicoco@gmail.com
Using absolutepoker.com client worked fine before latest update, which is why this bug is kind of sad. Now it only opens a black window that's too high to fit the screen.

Which update you are talking about? Poker client or wine?
In case of wine update, which version of wine worked for you?

--- Comment #2 from truenicoco@gmail.com 2010-06-14 16:31:55 --- The problem is, there was an update of both the poker client and wine. But the poker client upgrades are frequent and minor, so I'd bet (haha) it's the latest wine update that broke the compatibility. I'm using always up-to-date wine from ubuntu ppa repository, it was working with the previous version which should be 1.2-rc2 Thanks for your quick answer, let me know if I can be of any more help.

If you think that it is wine's fault, then you need to perform regression test. Don't worry, it's easy, maybe for first look it might seem too complex, but it is really easy:

I can't confirm this bug/regression. When run, normal windows shows up, which is black for a short time (till MmMapIoSpace crashes?? ~ bugzilla says this is won't fix = bug 10516) and than window is painted and i see a lot of poker stuff. To be sure i retest correctly:
1. winetricks gecko mfc42 2. wine mainclient.exe
Tested under wine-1.2-rc3, wine-1.2-rc4, wine-1.2-rc4-48-g58a6988.
