--- Comment #4 from Andrew Nguyen arethusa26@gmail.com 2010-02-21 21:55:35 --- Does installing native gdiplus with winetricks (http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks) allow the application to start?

There is a download at troopmaster.com, however, this is a licensed program, requiring a key.
It's too late tonight to try different wine versions.

Does installing native gdiplus with winetricks (http://wiki.winehq.org/winetricks) allow the application to start?
Yep. Works like a charm.
Awesome response to a problem report! Open source rocks.

--- Comment #7 from Andrew Nguyen arethusa26@gmail.com 2010-02-21 22:21:33 --- Indeed, Troopmaster 2010 seems to be hung up on a few gdiplus stubs:
fixme:gdiplus:GdipImageGetFrameCount not implemented fixme:gdiplus:GdipGetPropertySize not implemented fixme:gdiplus:GdipGetAllPropertyItems not implemented
I note that Troopmaster 2010 permits itself to be run without a serial key about ten times.

--- Comment #8 from Andrew Nguyen arethusa26@gmail.com 2010-06-30 09:51:36 --- While the gdiplus stubs have not been implemented to date, I don't see a crash or error dialogs anymore with the TM2010 installer available now from the download link. I presume we can call this issue fixed?

--- Comment #9 from Bill Mills-Curran bill@mills-curran.net 2010-06-30 09:57:17 --- As far as I'm concerned, closing this issue as "fixed" is appropriate. The fix suggested in comment #4 worked well, and I have had no further issues.
Read comment #6 for my opinion of you guys. :-)

If you set gdiplus to use the builtin implementation with wine-1.2-rc5, do the problems persist?

--- Comment #11 from Bill Mills-Curran bill@mills-curran.net 2010-06-30 10:15:03 --- I did not try the builtin implementation... I'm still running Hardy, which is using wine 1.1.42. I'm not in a position to test a newer version for a while (my spare time is committed to volunteer work & is quite heavy for the next 2 months).
Is upgrading to wine-1.2-rc5 tricky under Hardy? (I'm holding off upgrading my distro until the dust settles a bit on Lucid -- I had read about problems a month or so ago.)

Fair enough. I don't see any of the "Out of memory" dialogs I saw in wine-1.1.38, so I think I'll mark the bug as fixed. Thanks for reporting.

While I'm not in any position to comment, the Wine PPA doesn't seem to carry any packages newer than wine-1.1.42 for Hardy unfortunately.
