--- Comment #1 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2008-06-24 23:01:57 --- Can you either run with WINEDEBUG=+dxdiag, or better yet, use a copy of wine with debugging symbols, and attach the output?

--- Comment #2 from shaun mnuahs@yahoo.com 2008-06-25 23:32:37 --- Unfortunately I am unable to even get the autorun to launch as of 1.0. So I'm unable to duplicate this bug again. Nothing but garbage message dialogue boxes when attempting to run setup.exe as per the instructions, or when running the autorun.exe

--- Comment #3 from dimesio@earthlink.net 2008-06-27 18:03:30 --- I can't reproduce this--the install dialog boxes look fine on my system. (openSUSE 10.3, Wine 1.1.0) Do dialog boxes for your other Wine programs look okay?

--- Comment #4 from shaun mnuahs@yahoo.com 2008-06-27 20:49:09 --- Yes, other common dialog boxes appear fine, at least in the few programs I have that use them - It looks fine it ventrilo, notepad, and winefile. Other programs like Steam, Portal, HL2, WoW, Warcraft 3, etc, all have been behaving excellently, but don't really have any dialogue boxes. I will try again as soon as 1.1.0 hits the wine.budgetdedicated.com repository. I'll try to attach screenshots of the 2 boxes I get.

--- Comment #5 from shaun mnuahs@yahoo.com 2008-06-27 20:51:44 --- Created an attachment (id=14405) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=14405) nonsensical ok/cancel dialog box
Clicking ok will pop up another instance of this box, clicking cancel will show box #2.

--- Comment #6 from shaun mnuahs@yahoo.com 2008-06-27 20:52:45 --- Created an attachment (id=14406) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=14406) nonsensical yes/no dialogue box.
Clicking no on this one brings you back to box #1, clicking yes exits.

--- Comment #7 from dimesio@earthlink.net 2008-06-27 21:57:41 --- Have you tried installing Sim City 4 into a clean wineprefix?

--- Comment #8 from shaun mnuahs@yahoo.com 2008-07-01 11:58:28 --- I just tried it on another computer I have that hasn't had anything installed through wine on it, and it worked fine. Unfortunately I can't play it on that particular computer, business and play need to be kept separate. Suggestions?
I would really not like to have to reinstall everything in wine again, although it's looking like that is probably going to be the solution.

Try: $ WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-sims wine setup.exe

--- Comment #10 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2008-12-29 10:57:48 --- Is this still an issue in current (1.1.11 or newer) wine?
