While starting IE8 I get no background under back/forward, stop and search buttons. Buttons bar background for these buttons is copied from application window that in the background IE startup.

And if I try to change it with comctl32.dll (simply overwriting dll in Windows/System32 folder) got from Windows XP SP3 installation I get the same background issue.

if you are trying to install normally the ie from url field it complains that you already have newer ie installed.
The issue is still valid wine 2.0-git and staging 2.0.
Maybe its just transparency problem.
