Summary: Armalyte (remake) hangs after starting Product: Wine Version: 1.3.18 Platform: x86 URL: http://www.binaryzone.org/downloads/ArmalytePCDemo.zip OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: msvcrt AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: gyebro69@gmail.com
Created an attachment (id=34225) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=34225) 7zipped +msvcrt,+file,+tid log (uncompressed 23 MB)
Armalyte is the PC remake of a classic C64 arcade game.
The game doesn't produce any console output but it hangs after starting (consuming 100 % CPU power). The same behaviour in Wine-1.0.1, 1.2.3 and so on.
Workaround: native msvcrt.dll (the game starts and runs fine with it).
Here I attached a log containing +msvcrt,+file traces. It was created by starting the game, waiting for 10 seconds and aborting the unresponsive game.
In the log the following message is repeated over and over again: trace:msvcrt:read_i already at EOF, returning 0

--- Comment #1 from Andrew Nguyen arethusa26@gmail.com 2011-04-20 01:16:26 CDT --- Some analysis suggests that Armalyte suffers from the same problem as the application in bug 12372, so I'll mark this a duplicate.
