I tried opening the Puritan Hard Drive Demo to see if it would work on my GNU/Linux Ubuntu 12.04.2. Wine did the extraction just fine, but apparently it has trouble when opening a program.
Please use simple and clear explanations, as I am not an expert.

no crash, works fine here with recent Wine 1.7.x
There are minor issues with graphics artefacts in some places but they don't harm in the end (custom drawing within MDI windows). Can be worked around with 'winetricks -q gdiplus'.
Tidbit: The MDI app is created with 'Filemaker'.

--- Comment #3 from Joshua Alvarez j.alvarez4Jesus@gmail.com --- Thank you, my problem has been solved! I installed wine 1.7.18 (I guess it doesn't matter which version of wine 1.7 it is), ran "winetricks -q gdiplus" in the terminal, and opened the program. It runs just fine now.
