Summary: Call of Duty 4 - Depth of field and soften smoke edges broken Product: Wine Version: 1.1.11 Platform: PC URL: http://files.filefront.com/Call+of+Duty+4+Modern+Warfare +Demo/;8774322;/fileinfo.html OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: taedium_vitae@eml.cc
Created an attachment (id=18223) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=18223) Depth of field
If depth of field is enabled, and you look down your sight with the right mouse button, the whole screen becomes hazy and black and white.Similar effect with soften smoke edges enabled, only it occurs in all situations were your character is playable, not just with the sight enabled.During game rendered cut scenes, soften smoke edges also has lines/patterns all over the screen.Check the screenshots to see the effect(s) for yourself.

--- Comment #6 from Tomasz Sałaciński tsalacinski@gmail.com 2009-04-14 17:38:45 --- Confirming, although it looks slightly different on my machine (soften smoke edges causes top 50% of the screen to contain artifacts while the bottom is ok). Using WINE 1.1.19.

--- Comment #7 from DL taedium_vitae@eml.cc 2009-07-28 03:12:22 --- Issue still exists with 1.1.26.

--- Comment #9 from David aim_here2002@yahoo.co.uk 2009-10-28 06:26:15 --- The Depth of Field bug seems to have been fixed for me as of Cod 1.7 and Wine 1.1.32. The appropriate bits of the screen are now suitably unfocussed.
I've been unable to test 'Soften Smoke Edges' due to a crash in the options screen.

I spoke too soon - depth of field works, but my gun has a tendency to go all white when it shouldn't (see attached). So it's usable but not perfect.

--- Comment #12 from rocko rockorequin@hotmail.com 2009-11-15 01:10:09 --- Also, with depth of field turned on and night goggles on, the screen fills with white.
I tried soften smoke edges, and the whole screen gradually turns white (in puffs of smoke...). As well, whenever you turn soften smoke edges on or off and then exit options, the game crashes and the display stays black (you can alt-tab to show other apps are running, but screen goes black when you release alt-tab). So you have to kill X and restart.

--- Comment #22 from DL dredgingthelake@gmail.com 2010-11-05 00:08:26 CDT --- Depth of Field and Soften Smoke Edges are broken for me with wine-1.3.6. There was a brief period a while back where they were working, but I haven't seen it work since (I can't remember what version it was). I'll try wine-1.2.0 and see if it works there.
