Bug #: 31651 Summary: SlingPlayer 1.5 crashes when streaming Product: Wine Version: 1.5.12 Platform: x86-64 URL: http://download.slingmedia.com/player/pc/SlingPlayer-S etup-EU-1.5.1.343.exe OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: download Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: quartz AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: kennybobs@o2.co.uk Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 41612 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=41612 wine-1.5.12-157-gbdf9a9f console output
SlingPlayer 1.5 crashes when streaming.
Workaround is native quartz from DX9 (winetricks - the Win7 quartz has its own problems).
Native qcap needed to get around Bug 30904, and optionally gdiplus for Bug 30899. Native quartz is also needed for the installer (Bug 13371).

--- Comment #1 from Ken Sharp kennybobs@o2.co.uk 2013-03-24 12:45:11 CDT --- In Wine 1.5.26 there is no crash and the app simply reports an error.

--- Comment #3 from Ken Sharp imwellcushtymelike@gmail.com --- Looks like this is still present in Wine 2.0-rc3, though there's a new crash after starting the stream with native quartz. I'll try and work out why later.

native quartz causes a new crash
That's Bug 42502 and can be worked around.
No change with Wine 3.0-rc2. With Staging 2.21 the application survives longer, and even tries playing some audio, albeit terribly, before crashing the same way.
Workaround is native quartz.

--- Comment #6 from joaopa jeremielapuree@yahoo.fr --- Does the bug still occur with wine-5.10? It is impossible to test without a slingbox.
