--- Comment #2 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for two years. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.25 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #5 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
I'm not sure if Bob (OP) understood the last comment(s) correctly: Please retest using a recent version of Wine, preferably Wine 1.7.55 or later.
If you don't have this game anymore or are not willing to retest please say so t have this ticket closed, not wasting time of other people.
If there is no response after certain time, the bug will be closed without further notice (abandon).

--- Comment #8 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
I found a distributed backup (GOG) of TIE Fighter collector edition (1998). For testing I had to patch out the joystick code from TIE95.EXE because I don't have one. Didn't use any official patch, just debugger. There are some Linux apps that are supposed to emulate joystick/gamepad devices but way too much hassle to set up than just patching few bytes.
Anyway, I've entered the first mission and there was no crash. Graphics was rendered fine. Fond memories of a game I've played 25 years ago (DOS version though).
$ wine --version wine-6.9
