Summary: Photoshop CS2 All image and dialog windows draw behind main parent window with KDE4 Product: Wine Version: 1.0.0 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: brian@brianvuyk.com
Created an attachment (id=14174) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=14174) Screenshot demonstrating the bug. Note that all the subwindows are behind the main CS2 window.
Hello.
I just did a fresh install of Photoshop CS2 on a fresh Wine 1.0 install on Kubuntu 8.04 remix (KDE4).
Unfortunately, all the 'subwindows', including the image I am editing, as well as the tool dialog, layer dialog etc. draw behind the main parent window.
This means that the program can not easily be used.

--- Comment #1 from Qrees qreesp@gmail.com 2008-08-08 15:58:32 --- I think I have the same problem, but it happens only and always after minimizing Photoshop window. After restoring the window no subwindows are visible. Loading Default workspace makes subwindows visible again, except for image window.
Tested with wine 1.0 and 1.1.2 .

--- Comment #2 from aurora alex57283255@nybella.com 2008-09-06 17:01:11 --- I have a similar issue. If I switch workspaces and return to the workspace, Photoshop is running on (STRG-TAB), All dialog window and some of the images are hidden. They are however not behind the main window. I can only get them back by re-opening them (for example press F7 twice to close and then open the Layers dialog again). If I use "save as", no dialog box appears, but I cannot click anything in the menu. Presumably, there is a save-as-window open, but I cannot see it.

--- Comment #6 from Andrej C. andrej.cremoznik@gmail.com 2009-04-13 06:40:57 --- Since you're a KDE4 user there's a simple workaround.
Enable 4 virtual desktops in System Settings > Desktop > Multiple Desktops and enable compositing in System Settings > Desktop > Desktop Effects. Open the "Screen Edges" tab and configure a corner of your choice to trigger "Desktop Grid" effect. Next time simply start Photoshop on it's own virtual desktop. Whenever you need another application simply drag your mouse to a corner to trigger desktop grid and use whatever application you need on another desktop. When you want to go back to Photoshop use the desktop grid again. That way you don't need to minimize Photoshop and it won't mess with the z-order of toolboxes.
