Bug ID: 36792 Summary: Foxit Reader 6.2.0.0429: wrong response on double clicking the titlebar to max/restore Product: Wine Version: 1.7.20 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: penghao@linuxdeepin.com
Foxit Reader failed to Maximize at times, when you click the Maximize button on the right of the title bar, or double click the title bar, in order to maximize the whole window of the Foxit Reader, the window still keep the original size before you click the Maximize button (or double click the title bar).

--- Comment #1 from Hao Peng penghao@linuxdeepin.com --- this bug shows immediately after double click the title bar four or more times. The window stays normal window size and move to the left-top corner of the desktop.

--- Comment #2 from Qian Hong fracting@gmail.com --- Same behavior here with Ubuntu 14.04 i386, Unity 7.2.0 and Compiz 0.9.11.
There are two workarounds here: - Enable 'Emulate a virtual desktop' in winecfg - Disable 'Allow the window manager to decorate the windows' in winecfg
Please check if the workaround works for you.
Note that please provide information about your distribution, desktop environment and window manager in the future for bugs like these (bugs related to window decorate, related to maximize, related to Z-order, etc)
It is possible a WM bug rather than a Wine bug. As Deepin Linux developer, you are free to fork/fix the WM bug to improve Wine behavior :)

--- Comment #3 from Hao Peng penghao@linuxdeepin.com --- workaround works. It seems that was Window manager's bug.

--- Comment #4 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for over a year. Is this still an issue in current (1.7.51 or newer) wine?

workaround works. It seems that was Window manager's bug.
So can we assume that it's not wine's fault?

--- Comment #6 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
from my testing the bug was fixed in between Wine 1.7.46 and Wine 1.7.47 release.
I didn't bother to reverse-bisect the exact commit this time because I'm certain it's this one after inspecting the git log/diff: https://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/commitdiff/3d8353fe182f3e7742cd7dab34... ("winex11.drv: Track external changes to _NET_WM_STATE in net_wm_state.").
Thanks Esme

NOTE: There are still some open bugs related to Window manager / Desktop integration, such as bug 42709 ("Foxit Reader 7.3 has no close button after maximize (unchecking the option 'Allow the window manager to decorate the windows' works around)").

--- Comment #7 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net --- Hello folks,
correcting the download link to Foxit v6.2. It doesn't really matter though. A wide range of Foxit reader versions is affected and can be used to reproduce.
