Summary: CallWave: Fails to start if in Window XP mode. Product: Wine Version: 1.1.31 Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: gaming4jc2@yahoo.com
Created an attachment (id=24270) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=24270) Wine Bugs and Error Prompts from IAM.exe
This is just a more or less minor issue I have. CallWave works perfectly (with the exception of not being able to play back recordings inside the program) on Windows 98 mode. Yet when I use the normal Windows XP mode it fails to even start and produces numerous errors. Attached is the wine bugs, and two prompts given by IAM.exe. Keep in mind it's not a CallWave issue since it works perfectly on a real Windows XP out of the box.

WIN32_RegKeyNotFound : Registry key "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Special\Accounts\UserList" not found.
Does adding that registry key help?

--- Comment #2 from Luke gaming4jc2@yahoo.com 2009-10-21 18:30:15 --- Created an attachment (id=24272) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=24272) The Registry Entry, Terminal Output, and new Errors from CallWave
The Wine Registry stops at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion" with no folder references to anything after Winlogon. Yet a valid Windows XP machine reveals this full path: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList] Inside this folder exists numerous other registry entries.
I have extracted those entries from an official Windows Registry and imported them into Wine. After doing so I received new errors, which are attached.

--- Comment #3 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2011-10-02 11:45:37 CDT --- This is your friendly reminder that there has been no bug activity for 1 year. Is this still an issue in current (1.3.29 or newer) wine?

--- Comment #4 from Luke gaming4jc2@yahoo.com 2013-03-17 17:29:19 CDT --- Still doesn't work on 1.5.26 of Wine, however the entire program and service is now defunct. So not really worth fixing.
In the unlikely situation someone would like to test it just for debugging purposes I've added a download link.
