Missing class factory clsids?

Hello, I have an application which I am trying to get running under a no-windows CVS wine which is written in VB. Unfortunately the install doesnt seem to work too well, so I have copied the program from a windows partition. When trying to run it I initially was getting errors about missing CLSID's, which I tied up in the windows registry with comdlg32.ocx not being registered, so ran regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx and got beyond that problem. gdb and nanosleep() issues

Running some apps leave me sometime having an exception in the debugger, so gdb is called. And many times the function that appears when gdb is called is nanosleep(). Bugzilla documentation

Our Bugzilla documentation will grow significantly, will contain references to other documentation (e.g. troubleshooting guide, debugging guide). I'd prefer to have bugzilla documentation somewhere in CVS, so we do not need to ask Jeremy Newman to change a something, but would be able to do it ourselves and submit ready-to-use patch. I've started looking at this. I already have up & running (even if everything is not perfect) an implementation of the gdb remote target in winedbg. Basically, this allows the following scheme: gdb <gdb remote protocol> winedbg <Win32 debug API> wineserver winedbg is in this case just a proxy between the gdb remote protocol and the Win32 debug API. This works quite well, with decent performance (even using the remote protocol). However, this doesn't support the standard Windows debug formats (as winedbg does). I've also started looking at the way to integrate this into gdb, but it still requires lots of work before being operational. in terms of porting options for gdb, I've looked at several options to do the job, what has to be done. Now we need to fix some issues to better accept the suggested help. *Application Owners We already have application owners for many applications, including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Money, CAD applications, other (still need to compile the whole list). I think big part of bug The issue here - management of the AppDB entries. Is it possible to give an application owner privileges to edit information of the applications they are responsible for? How are we going to organize the whole process? *Bugzilla I'm going to create documentation for bugs processing, instructions for application owners. Can I add these documents to the winehq web site instead of having separate documentation for AppDB and Bugzilla? On other hand we already have in AppDB and Bugzilla some documentation. I'm currently running the Lotus Notes 5.0.7 client under the latest WINE (CVS build from 5/22/2002). Works well with no visual glitches that I can see, but I get this message repeated over and over: err:clipping:CLIPPING_UpdateGCRegion DC is dirty. Just saw a post on TransGaming's web site that Lotus SmartSuite runs on WineX...although it took him 2 installs... He also said that installing the MS OLE update improved thimgs even more, so the OLE Update may be something to look into in trying to get it to work... Hey, received a note from Riszanyi Zsolt asking to implement use of $KDEHOME in wineshelllink. Well, I took a look at it, and started to do that, but then I realized that if we do that and they have 2 versions of KDE installed (i.e. Mandrake 8.2's way, KDE2 in /usr and KDE3 in /opt), the icons will only be in 1 of the 2 directories. Recursion caused by call of GetProp in window procedure

It seems the problem occurs when GetPropA is called in a window procedure on WM_WINDOWPOSCHANGING message what causes generation of other WM_WINDOWPOSCHANGING message. The 'file' regression test fails on NT

I tested the 'file' regression test on NT4 and XP and it fails on both. Here is where the error occurs: tests/file.c:236: Test failed: DeleteFile failed (5). tests/file.c:240: Test failed: couldn't create file "testfile.xxx" (err=5) tests/file.c:242: Test failed: _hwrite complains. [...] 5 means 'permission denied'. DeleteFile fails just after _lcreat(filename,1) creates a read-only file: H:\wine\wine\dlls\kernel>attrib testfile.xxx A R H:\wine\wine\dlls\kernel\testfile.xxx Because that file is marked read-only, DeleteFile fails to delete it, then causing the failure of all the other tests. I checked and the same happens on non-smb drives (c:\). I also checked that the exact same thing happens on Windows 98. So the test needs to be fixed. Wine crash before initialization - is this faulty code ?

Hi - I had a wine crash today that occurs before wine is properly initialized, and therefore was pretty nasty to debug. However I traced it down to the test program below. The test program is loaded as a winelib app (i.e. a dll). The program defines a global variable that is an instance of a class where the constructor calls InitalizeCriticalSection(). Interestingly, the call to RtlInitializeCriticalSection() completes successfully, but subsequently the program crashes and the stack is corrupted, so that I can't really see where the program is stuck. It seems that the dlopen() call in wine_dlopen() on Test.so never finishes, though. This seems to run fine on windows. Comments? Researching crash in bug 637

I'm researching a crash, described in bug 637: http://bugs.winehq.com/show_bug.cgi?id=637 I can't understand why the application crashes. Can somebody give me a hint what is going on? It seems the app quietly draws some staff, then loads an error message (?) and crashes. Snippet of the relay trace is attached. Hi- I have been reading, http://wine.codeweavers.com/docs/winelib-user/bindlls.shtml http://www.unixodbc.org/doc/wine.html in order to understand how to communicate with a windows odbc driver from linux. I have a working windows setup for connecting to a remote synergex database with ODBC drivers they provided. What I would like to do is be able to access the DSN provided by this ODBC driver via wine. The examples I've read seem to be the opposite of what I want to do. I have looked at dlls/odbc32/proxyodbc.c and it seems to hook unixodbc into wine as the Driver Manager. But I don't know what makes sense to put into the /etc/odbc.ini or /etc/odbcinst.ini or perhaps .wine/fake-windows/ODBC.INI .wine/fake-windows/ODBCINST.INI for the DSN provided from within wine. Is this possible. Has anybody done this before?

Alexandre, there were two files in this patch. Is there a specific reason, why they were not completely applied? It looks to me that only parts of the first file were applied. Office 97 installation

Hi, Sorry if this has been discussed before but I could not find a searchable archieve of the list. For some time now Microsoft Office 97 installs almost perfect. However, in the end of the instalation it warns about vbe.dll could not regiter itself. Then the instalation ends with an error. Even with the error, everything is in place. The registries are correct (at least they seem to be). Word and Excel runs nicely. Everything in a windows/native dlls free environment. I found this document about the issue from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q162627 I check everything it says and everything seems to be correct. As more people have tryied Office 97/2000 with wine, this error might be already known. (I hope so) So, why does it happen? Is it a bug or something not implemented (or half implemented) in wine? Is this caused by some missing file/dll/registry entry ? Is this some ugly undocumented hack that office 97 installer does? btw, the version is Office 97 Pro in pt_BR. []'s Raul Dias

Behaviour of GetModuleFileName

So it looks to me like GetModuleFileName is always returning *only* the filename of the module, not the full path. MSDN says: lpFilename [out] Pointer to a buffer that receives the path and file name of the specified module. And I've come across some windows code that relies on this behaviour.... I've come up with a somewhat messy patch to fix this by adding a call to dlinfo in the spec code generated by winebuild, but unfortunately there seems to be some code in wine that relies on GetModuleFileName returning only the filename. My current hack is to maintain two versions of winebuild - the one I use when building wine, and the one I use when building my code... Hardly elegant. I have two questions: 1. Would anyone object if I tried to fix wine to behave properly with GetModuleFileName returning the full path? I haven't dug into it yet, so I don't know how much effort will be required... Is there a reasons we have the current behaviour? 2. I've attached the patch I'm using at the bottom of this message - can anyone think of a cleaner way of doing this? Thanks! Of course, I don't claim X11 license over all the patch However, the Wine only part (the mpgl3.c file) is under an X11 license. I get failures when running dlls/kernel/tests/path.c on NT4. This is on a Samba filesystem but this test works fine when run in Windows 98 and Windows XP so there must be something wrong. opengl and borland C++ cause floating point exceptions

Hello all, I am trying to get the neverwinter nights model viewer running under wine. When viewing some models I start to get floating point errors. I did a quick search on google and came up with the following post. http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=78cak7%2457q%241%40tourist.gnt.net&out… It seems the borland compiler (the one used in the viewer) does not turn off floating point exceptions by default while the Microsoft compiler does. Aparently the opengl library is known to cause floating point exceptions so when you put the two together bad things happened. It looks like Microsoft fixed this incompatibility by wrapping a call to turn off floating point exceptions and then restore the previous mask around each opengl call. Do I understand the problem correctly? Does this sound like a resonable fix for wine too? ryan

Here are the results from my latest attempt to build wine under mingw. We can build alot more now but most of these are still manly stubed dlls. Anywhere it has (needs msvcrt import) I will submit a patch to the Makefile.in with my next set of patches. Also anywhere it has missing -lshlwapi or lntdll that is because Mingw doesnt come with a libntdll.a or libshlwapi.a so I used wines $dllname.spec.def to create them without the *wine* exports. Mingw's libkernel32.a doesnt seem to export the toolhelp api calls so I guess I need to add this to list of things I need to include when I finnaly start sending them patches. I dont know how much of the problems below are non-win32api call problems but the ones I am sure about are GetSysColorPen and wvsnprintf(A/W)@16. wvsnprintfA/W is only used in shlwapi.dll so it shouldnt be to hard to fix. My programming skills are very week so I dont know how much help I can be with fixing some of these.
