Actually I was expecting the question why not use the definition in freetype.h that comes with libfreetype? Or better use the ready-to-be-used tags FT_ENCODING_MS_SYMBOL, FT_ENCODING_UNICODE and FT_ENCODING_APPLE_ROMAN. Makes it easier to read with the libfreetype's documentation as well. Help needed to get the application work for native linux editors

Hai friends, I successfully ran a script manager(keyboard Manager/driver) developed for windows (using VC++) in Linux using wine. Its working in the wordpad application called using wine.I want to make it work in Linux editors. The technical details about the working of the keyboard driver is as follows. 1) The keyboard driver is a keyboard hooker program. The keyboard driver will trap all the keystrokes from the keyboard and convert the Ascii value to the appropriate native language Character code. 2) First we have to get the handle of the window/control where the cursor is currently located, for that the GetFocus API is used. 3) Virtual-key code of the key that generated the keystroke message is converted to appropriate another code for making the keyboard Inscript or phonetic and send using Postmessage API. I have some doubts. Do these APIs written for windows work in linux. In linux , How could i get the handle of the window where the cursor is currently located. What are the changes that i should make in the source code to make it work for linux editors. Looking for your suggessions. Thanks in advance . RPM for Red Hat - Wine Startup problem for multiple users

Hi good folks! I'd like to offer to provide some testing and/or debug feedback on this one because it seems several users have experienced the same problem getting Wine to start, and it appears not to be application specific. Previous use of Wine has been fine, and I just tried 20031016 using the RPMs for RH8, running i686. I get the same problem whether I upgraded, or cleared everything out first and installed from scratch. Doesn't matter what application I try - even notepad, for example, all stop with the following error, seemingly before Wine has really got going... wine: Unhandled exception (thread 0009), starting debugger... Now, I assume there's some more debugging info I could offer you guys, but you'll need to ask me the question coz I'm not sure what you want to know. Why am I writing here? Well, it seemed more appropriate than the wine-users list where this got discussed a bit, and it seems likely that it's going to be a fixable problem because several users have seen it - and it appears to occur early during start-up regardless of application being launched, so from my experience of programming it seems it stands the chance of being a more readily fixable glitch in common code than some hard-to-track down obscure interaction with application-specific libraries. Oh, and I need a pointer to what questions need answering to be helpful and I'd like to be able to give better debug/testing feedback to help the project along a little bit as much as I can. " -- Wine configuration tool: Mike Hearn is working on it these days" I am aware Ivan Leo Murray-Smith has WineSetupTk on sourceforge but the config that mike is working on is/will be integrated into wine correct? Regression - loader problem? (Alexander?)

Hi, I've finally tracked down a problem which has halted 3DMark progress for about 2 weeks to a patch in the loader: http://www.winehq.org/hypermail/wine-cvs/2003/10/0016.html The symptoms are that 3dmark2001se traps very early on, just after a splash screen. I tried debugging it without success, so perhaps a question for Alexander, but any thoughts? Jason

Problem with winebuild under cygwin

I am trying to build Wine cvs under Cygwin and when trying to build dlls I get this error: ../tools/winebuild/winebuild -o advapi32/advapi32.spec.def --def advapi32/advapi32.spec Unable to create output file '(null)' make: *** [advapi32/advapi32.spec.def] Error 1 Does someone have any idea on how to fix that ? wine in the press -- a little question :)

Hello all, I have a question about "our" press page. Ive been looking for incidences where wine is mentioned in the press so when I update the press page I can do one nice update with "most" incidences where where mentioned. My question is should I add small incidences to the press page.... <example> http://www.newsforge.com/article.pl?sid=03/10/01/1417208&mode=thread&tid=51 </example> Or just sites where wine is the main topic ? Errors in user tests

Running the user tests, I get different results if run with 'make test' and manually in a terminal. If run with wine in a terminal: listbox gets 16 failures (no failure with make test) msg gets 24 failures (only 1 failure with make test.) If I launch the same runtest command that gets started from Makefile, I get no error. I dont understand what is happening here.
