Work for hire^H^H^H^Hgrade

Hi all, A prof. in a locale university is doing a summer course about open source development. I gave them a short power point lecture (on Linux :-), and showed them IE running, and managed to hook one vulenteer to do his assignment in Wine. I have managed to interest him in some of open issues that are close to my heart (i.e. - BiDi related issues). However, this is far from final. I'm sure he would love to hear about other interesting areas, but some criteria must be kept. It must be a task that is moreorless self contained (he is supposed to be graded for it at the end), and it must be something known to be possible in a reasonable amount of hours (i.e - it can't be "implementing MSI"). Then again, it can't be something too trivial (i.e. - not "localize notepad"). Currently at hand are adding encoding selection to the font dlg (and making it ANSI call Unicode in the process), and adding BiDi to the edit control. If you feel you have something else that may be of interest to him, feel free to try and grab him away :-) Shachar P.S. No, I have not dropped of the face of the planet, and I still read this list. Just too busy to be doing anything useful (except hiring other working hands, which may count for something, I guess). MACRO and other problems on porting to w32api headers

Hello, I am trying to get some of the WINE dlls to build with the w32api package and am running in to problems with typedefs. When I try to build some of the dlls lets take mapi32 as a example I am getting a parse error because of this: typedef unsigned long FAR *LPLHANDLE, FAR *LPULONG; Also some of the functions and structures are declaired as STDCALL in MS_VC and w32api but in wine it is listed as CALLBACK and this causes problems. Is there any documentation anywhere on how I should deal with the macro FAR and CALLBACK type in the headers? Thanks Steven

Mouse not working in old DOS game ("MadTV")

Today I tried to play a game, which is cult in Europe and nearly unknown in the USA: MadTV. When trying to start it, I encountered a problem: The mouse cursor of the game wasn't moved together with the wine mouse cursor and wine spit out a lot of int irq fixme messages: "fixme:int:DOSVM_Int33Handler Position mouse cursor" So I created a log with --debugmsg +int appended. Since the first ~300.000 lines contained a lot of repititions I decided to completely trash them. The attached backtrace contains a few thousands of lines output. Maybe sb, of you already experienced this problem, too - or even works on a solution. regs, Chris

Your code is obviously a straight transcription of the disassembled code, with lots of magic numbers and meaningless variable names. How to compiling spec file and source file to generate a wine dll

Hello Finally I found the HOW-TO winelib which gives me a pretty useful example in it: 2. a Windows executable with WineLib DLL... .... During the compile process, a command like winebuild -fPIC -o winedll.spec.c -spec winedll.spec will be executed to create the file winedll.spec.c from information in the file winedll.spec. The file winedll.spec.c and winedll.c are compiled into object files and used to create the shared library. ...... My question is How to generate winedll.dll.so from winedll.spec.c and winedll.c and other source file like winedll.h if needed.. I am wondering whether someone can give me a detailed implementation command about this: It should something like "gcc -shared -Wl, -Bsymbolic -o ... or use winebuild directly..
