Compiling winboard (GNU Chess)

Hi everybody, I'm busy with compiling winboard (the win32 version of xboard -- ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/winboard-4_2_6-src.tar.gz ). I made this makefile based on cygwin.mak (included in the source tarball) and I ran into problem. (I changed none of the source files.) I know this has been asked in the past, but whats the deal in using GPL code in wine (which is LGPL)? Can it be used or is it something to completely avoid? Jason

calls to int 3d corrupt the stack

Actual implementation of the int 3d call (Standalone FWAIT) is to patch the code to an fwait(9b) and a noop(90). It seems that it corrupts the stack in FPU_ModifyCode and prevents vb3 programs to start. (tests made with current CVS) Since we do nothing apart an emulated fwait, I commented the call to FPU_ModifyCode. Nothing reported for missing fonts

Hi, I recently configured Wine to use new fake Windows directories and I forgot to copy the font files from Windows. Nothing was reported and some apps displayed unreadable characters. Is there a way to report an error when an app tries to used missing fonts ? That would help users I think. :-) Just a though... :-) Bye, Christian

The attached patch hacks^H^H^H^H^Hfixes this problem. Obviously, this binary doesn't contain a valid PE header. OTOH it seems to be a valid Windows binary (I haven't checked it myself). Maybe somebody with a more deep insight into this can come up with a better fix.
