I don't really care about the indentation, but the reason for the change was so that we could use the proper type in the METHODS macro without having to add special support for escaping EOLs. Not sure but it might be worth ensuring mprotect is called afterwards.... Just a random thought, I don't think it'd matter in this case as we use MAP_FIXED anyway.

can the wine debugger be disabled

Hello, Before anyone flames me let me say that I'm perfectly aware of the continuing effort of the Wine team for greater compatibility with Windows applications, and that the debugger is instrumental in that quest. However, in the company I work for we will replace a hundred or so PCs which run Windows with Linux PCs. The people using these PCs are the most clueless possible, and we want to avoid aggravation from them when/if the Wine debugger shows up when an application fails. That's inacceptable since those people would be lost and not know what to do. However, I cannot figure out how to do so using configuration files (wineserver -d0 rarely does the trick, and I don't think we can rely on that). So I humbly ask for directions so that I can alter Wine's source code to not call up the debugger and instead show a dialogue to inform the user of what happened. Naturally, any application which misbehaves and is important enough *will* be debugged, we just can't have the debugger showing up every time, leaving the app frozen. (sorry if it's been asked before, I couldn't find out how to search of the mailling lists) Thank you in advance. Cristovao.

Linking against a dll

Is it possible to link a wine application against a Windows dll without calling LoadLibrary? The documentation says: > All the libraries you link with should be available as '.so' > libraries. If one of them is available only in '.dll' form then > consult Building WineLib DLLs. But, the chapter "Building WineLib DLLs" talks only about taking a Linux library and making it available as a .dll.so library. I could build a wrapper library that uses LoadLibrary and then calls each available functions, but I can also do that directly in my code, which I am trying to avoid if possible. Thanks. possible StretchBlt problem

I'm having an issue with StretchBlt and alpha channels, I've got 2 DIBs, and using StretchBlt from one to the other. If the source and destination height & width are identical, it works perfectly, but if I increase or decrease either height or width by as much as 1 pixel, the alpha channel appears to be zeroed out Digging through x11drv, I think I narrowed the problem down to a XGetImage call in BITBLT_GetSrcAreaStretch where the alpha channel is lost, but when XCopyArea is used, alpha is preserved I'm not extremely familiar with X at this level so I very well may be completely wrong, and I have no idea what type of solution there would be Anyone familiar with this stuff that may be able to help? Hi guys I'm back home. WineConf has been a profound experience for me. Thank you all. It is my intention to edit a 4-7 minutes of a WineConf2004 movie. to post on the web. I am browsing through the 8 hours of WineConf videos and I need your help: Please from the top of your head, be totally associative, what are the couple of moments you most remember / where profoundly moved by, at WineConf2004? I will try and use every ones feelings that way to guide me through the edit process. I'm not sure it will make it easer but it looks like a short cut. Free Life Boaz

strange file name question.

Hi, Showing my ignorance, but this is the first time that I see something like this: (agent.xrs is indeed a zip file) | 0009:Call kernel32.GetFileAttributesA(416818c4 "H:\\binw\\Agent\\agent.xrs#zip:version.xml") ret=005f4635 | 0009:Ret kernel32.GetFileAttributesA() retval=ffffffff ret=005f4635 it looks that with a normal file function you can access the contents of a zip file. An excellent test program for Wine

I find the following program to be an excellent test program for anything that acts like Windows. The program is Vast and may be downloaded from http://www-306.ibm.com/software/awdtools/smalltalk/. The program you want is the 6.0.2 fixpack which is also a fully operational evaluation version of Vast. It gives an evaluation notice on startup but is not disabled and has no timeout. The value of this program is that it runs on everything from Win 95 on and uses just about every feature in a Windows system. It is one of the best tests of system integrity I have been able to find. It almost installs and runs on Wine.
