Was it ever discussed further? Regards Louis No, it was not discussed in detail. I think this patch is incorrect, it fixes some apps, but it breaks others, the QuickTime Player for example behaves incorrect with this patch. One suggestion was to fix non-managed windows instead, but according to some Documentation this is not possible because every window manager behaves differently with non-managed windows. Maybe someone has a better solution Cheers, Stefan

Can you reproduce this bug? Follow these steps: 1. Install Filezilla: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/filezilla/FileZilla_2_2_16_setup.exe?dow… 2. FTP into the server of your choice 3. Click and drag files from the server to your local machine (to copy them) 4. Realize now that even though the files have been copied to your machine, you are still dragging the files around If you can replicate this serious bug, can you fix it? Hiji P.S. Tracking bug for serious Wine bugs running "must-have" K12 apps

I've created metabug http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3554 to track problems in Wine that make K12 classroom applications unusable or untestable. So far I only have two bugs listed there, but I have only looked at one of the apps in the list ( http://kegel.com/wine/qa/#app.k12 ) from the K12OSN folks. My hope is that this becomes a list of the highest impact bugs in K-12 bugs, those that are worth fixing for, say, wine-0.9.2. Less serious bugs can wait for future releases, and don't yet need a tracking bug. Coments, anyone?

Test If Running Under Wine

I am a developer of Win32 applications. We have recently found the command ShellExecute when trying to browse folders functions differently between Wine and Windows. This is mainly because there is no implementation of Windows Explorer unider Wine so the command does nothing. How in our code do we differentiate between Wine runs and Windows runs? The documentation discourages such tests saying we should fix Wine. My boss wants to do minimal changes to our code so how do we do a simple test if we are using Wine or not? I have some code to test for the existance of explore.exe and if not present then assume we are under Linux. Is this sufficiently generic? (foreign languages etc)
