Problems with access97 application

winecfg dosdevices unusable

Hi, just getting into a fresh installation with 0.9 ran up winecfg and tried to add a device for my dvd burner. editing the device name is unusable. No cursor , then after a first character is entered the edit seems to jump to insert mode and puts the cursor at the begingin of the line. There seems no way enter text normally to enter a device name. This whole interface seems badly broken. I had to fall back to good old command line to sort out the mess made by winecfg and add the devices I need. Disappointing start to 0.9 , I wonder what new user would make of that. hmm.

AVI problem AND one I am not sure of...

Thanks for the fix to the length of reported string fix... I had a small .AVI file on a progress bar form that caused wine to crash... Is there a known problem with wine and the little animated icons (avi files)? For testing I temporarily removed the avi from the progress indication form and continued testing... Could not determine operating system. Exiting.

Hi! Congratulations for releasing wine-0.9! However, I still have a problem running a program. It's a NT4.0 only program (at least its vendor is telling it) which I would like to run in wine. It's a special software made by Siemens to support operation and maintenance of their telephone exchanges. The installation starts, but after clicking the first "Next", just after the initial information about the program, a small dialog saying "Could not determine operating system. Exiting" pops up and the installation terminates. I've set the windows version in winecfg to NT4.0, as the program expects, however I've tried another versions too and the program is ignoring it totally. It's just clean CVS wine installation (no windows). Is there a possibility to find, which tricks is the program trying to determine an OS it's running on ? I've tried WINEDEBUG=+relay, found the place where the dialog was requested but I didn't find anything suspicious before. With regards, Pavel Troller

I've tried to 'make test' to see if my CVS compile works, but some test cases seems not to work without returning an error. Is this normal or a local issue of my installation? Hi, Yesterday, after having manually closed some old fixed bugs, I discussed with infyquest and tlambregts on irc and tlambregts told us that instead of manually closing the bugs, bugzilla had a "change several bugs at once function" It was then discussed that bugs that are FIXED and where resolution is not LATER or DUPLICATE or REMIND should be marked CLOSED as the fixes have been integrated in an official release (namely 0.9). http://bugs.winehq.org/buglist.cgi?query_format=&short_desc_type=allwordssu… FYI the CLOSED status means: The bug is considered dead, the resolution is correct. Any zombie bugs who choose to walk the earth again must do so by becoming REOPENED. Unfortunately bugzilla doesn't allow to close bugs directly from their fixed state so you have to verify them before and thus it will send two mails for each bug closed. I don't think it was possible to turn off change notification at that time (tlambregts even told me that the two spam bugs were normal because of the way bugzilla works) but I cannot verify it as my account has been gently disabled... However it seems that ivanleo didn't like my CLOSING session because some of the bugs were not "fixed". Can someone tell me how a bug can be not fixed and marked as resolved-fixed (see my query) ? The discussion on IRC took place at a time when there were many of you (vitamin, Thunderbird, kbln, infyquest, _Marcus_, tlambregts, cmorgan and so on) and nobody seemed to think it would be a bad idea to close bugs that were fixed before the latest release came out.
