Well this patch broke functionality with other applications. And I'm not sure that this program doing the right thing as on win2k with FireFox installed I have @=C:\PROGRA~1\MOZILL~1\FIREFOX.EXE -url "%1" So we need to decide which programs do we want to brake and which programs we want to have working. Exec-Shield / Prelinking Issue - Please help =/

Greetings, I'm experiencing in issue with the latest Wine on Fedora Core 4, latest kernel and all latest drivers available. I'm attempting to run World of Warcraft, after compiling a custom build of wine, with instructions outlined at http://wiki.kaspersandberg.com/doku.php?id=howtos:wine:worldofwarcraft Everything compiles fine, and I'm able to run wine to generat the ~/home/user/.wine directory The problem comes when I try to run the mozilla patcher, I receive an error that says: [inferno@localhost ~]$ cd .wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/World\ of\ Warcraft/ [inferno@localhost World of Warcraft]$ wine WoW.exe -opengl err:virtual:map_image Image was mapped at 0xda0000: standard load address for a Win32 program (0x00400000) not available err:virtual:map_image Do you have exec-shield or prelink active? wine: could not load L"C:\\Program Files\\World of Warcraft\\WoW.exe" as Win32 binary [inferno@localhost World of Warcraft]$ -- I've checked all available settings, and I have fully disabled Prelinking and Exec-Shield to the best of my knowledge. I've added b /usr/lib{,64}/wine to /etc/prelink.conf I've set prelink to no in /sysconfig/prelink and restarted prelink And I did a set kernel.exec-shield = 0 in sysctl.conf The issue persists, I've also tried manually installing the Mozilla files from a different library which worked fine, but I continue to get the error even when trying to run "wine -WoW.exe -opengl" Does anyone have any advice? I would be eternally grateful for a direction to go in. Cedega will not work for WoW for me, as it has a persistant D3D issue and bad OpenGL support. Wine is my only option. Thank you very much in advance!

With +++ usp10.c -> +++ dlls/usp10/tests/usp10.c a meant you should put the path in front of the filename. Also i hopefully did not tell you to remove the /dev/ null line. Well http://appdb.winehq.org/help/?topic=maintainer_ratings spells it out that gold is just that. An application can be rated as Gold if it installs and runs "out of the box". Some maintainers may have a distorted or over optimistic opinion of their application. I was trying to read WWN 303 but there appears to be a XML error on line 597. Mozilla verifies this by giving an error on the same line of the raw XML source. The actual Mozilla output is shown below: XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: </br>. Location: http://winehq.org/wwn/wn20060122_303.xml Line Number 597, Column 62: doesn't seem to be able to get a hold of SEGFAULTs.</li></ul> ---------------------------------------------------^ appearantly </br> was expected where </li> was. Odd.

Visual C++ 6

I've been trying to get Visual C++ 6 to work under Wine. It does seem to work for trivial programs with wine 0.9.6. It fails to compile anything with floating-point constants in the source because _atoldbl in msvcrt.dll is not implemented. I've attached a patch with a trivial implementation of that function. With the patch, I'm able to compile trivial programs with floating-point math. However, for any real application, I'm getting internal compiler errors.

wine 0.9.7 crashes in dlls/d3d8/drawprim.c

Hi, I'm trying to debug a problem with the Mafia demo. Basically, it is like this: The demo runs fine (albeit a bit slow) for some short (but varying) time). Then it crashes in dlls/d3d8/drawprim.c line 983 (function drawStridedSlow) with a page fault on read access. The exact address differs a bit between runs, but seems to be above 0x7f000000 all the time. As the full version of Mafia seems to work, I would like to know wether anyone else has ever seen the same crash or can offer a hint to where the problem might be. regards, Daniel
