Hi, the attached patch adds new textbox input 'Video Memory size' for Graphics/Direct3D tab of winecfg. Updated every live locale resource to include this. Adding this option was discussed on thread 'More Direct3D settings in winecfg (was: Enabling GLSL in winecfg)' at wine-devel. changelog entry: Add Video Memory textbox to Graphics/direct3D part of winecfg May I kindly ask someone for the patch review? Follow-up... I recall that forcing the charset to be ANSI_CHARSET instead of DEFAULT_CHARSET [1] "fixed" bug 7571 [2] here, and from that rose an idea: would it be possible to add an option to winecfg to enforce a particular charset/codepage, much like it is already done in web browsers? That way, we here wouldn't have to face 7571 while the fix isn't ready. Is such a thing acceptable? TIA, - Pedro. Suse wine and wind/u issues

Hi, We are trying to port a windows app to linux. Previous we are using Wind/U. Now we want to test the feasibilty of wine, instead of Wind/U. We have installed Wind/U and Wine on the SLES 9 machine. We have installed the rpm. When we are configuring the wine, using winecfg/wineprefixcreate, its hanging. Its unable to create the fake dlls. Can you please help us. Is this problem occuring due to Wind/U? Thanks, VJ

Trace fix

Patch: please review fixes to wineshelllink

wineshelllink uses a bash/ksh construct like "$(get_menu_entries)", but since Solaris' /bin/sh is truly /bin/sh and not bash/ksh, it fails on this call. I have modified it to use a more "compatible" method suggested by Dan Kegel. In addition, the awk command uses the "match" function, but again this is native to gawk and nawk, and this fails with Solaris' native awk command. I have tested this in Solaris with this code, and the original wineshelllink with a "#!/bin/bash" and replacing awk with gawk, and I got menu items on my desktop. Could a few folks sanity check this on a linux system to make sure it's kosher. I'm still fighting getting wine compiled in my ubuntu system. Thanks, Ben
