In that case it's not really important because a user will probably do that anyway. The only minor issue would be that someone runs winecfg for the first time and is satisfied with the defaults (no driver checked -> sound off) so without any changes he dismisses winecfg. Testing WideCharToMultiByte

Has anyone ever done a proper investigation into the edges of WideCharToMultiByte? I was quite surprised to see that given how important it is there is no test for it (or am I blind?) I am investigating a potential off-by-one in msi and want to know very exactly what is supposed to happen in the edge cases (e.g. specifying a length of 0 or a length that does not actually include a terminating null character or ...). Steam Winsock regression

Hi, For a while now I've been noticing a very bad regression in winsock with steam. If I try to view information about a server using the "View game info command," my Internet connection fails completely. Not only that, but sometimes *all* of the machines on my network (both WinXP and Linux) lose their connections as well. Ok, got it.. I just figured it would help to know what games use what CP measures, so we could get a percentage or something, maybe the better place would be in the wiki? Actually, yea I like that idea better, I will put up a CP page under my homepage in the wiki, and ask people to look up their game, and to post their game under the page for whichever copy protection their game uses.. Hi. I am using the wine version from Debian Sarge 3.0. However, I cannot use interactive console programs, because -- I suppose -- it is "missing" the '\r' (^M) character of shell terminals in command terminations (carriage-return/new-line). As I could not find the fix/workaround for that (even on your FAQ), I decided ask you how to run interactive DOS programs that wait for command lines. Page fault: completely lost while debugging

Hi all, I am having one problem with one project I have just made compile. It's one of the plugins of the windows' multiprotocol IM program, Miranda. I will try to explain what my problem is. After solving some issues with compilation (mainly some undefined names - functions - in std namespace - it's a C++ project), I tried to run the application and when asking the plugin to connect to one IRC server (it is the application's IRC protocol plugin) it crashes with this error: Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000004 in 32-bit code (0x41d551de).
