does wine ever DllRegisterServer() its own dlls?

I noticed that doing "regsvr32 devenum.dll" and "regsvr32 quartz.dll" makes the Warcraft III in-game movie play properly on wine (which they normally don't). WinRAR doesnt show files on drives other than the default one

When I start WinRAR, it shows the files and folders on the drive that it starts up in, but if I switch to drive Z (the / folder on my reiser fs), nothing shows up there. This is most likely a listview bug, but I´m not sure when it stopped working. Sometime before 0.9 came out. I will file a bug for it tomorrow after work, as well as posting a DEBUGMSG=+listview log at that time.. Dustin

Measuring Wine's API completeness

Hello everybody, talking to David Gümbel today the idea came up that it might be worth it to introduce an additional section in the comments that document the exported APIs. Something like 'IMPLEMENTATION STATUS', which would document the author's opinion on how complete the implementation of a given API is. We could introduce a classification scheme similar to: STUBBED: Well, stubbed. SKETCHY: Implemented just enough to make a specific application or a small set of applications happy. SUBSTANTIAL: Implemented a substantial part of the API (Perhaps as much as is documented on MSDN). COMPLETE: The author of this API considers the implementation complete. REVIEWED: The code was reviewed for completeness and correctness. It would be cool for various reasons, if we could do this in a machine readable way: 1. We could generate the 'Wine DLLs Status' page automatically with every release and we would have a historical record in cvs, which gives another view on the progress we make. 2. We could establish guidelines like "A patch, which touches an API marked REVIEWED can only go into cvs, if reviewed by n people other than the author". 3. Tools like ITOMIG's ganymede, which try to give an estimate on how well an application can be expected to work on wine by doing a static analysis to figure out the used APIs, could apply this information. Since COM classes, which account for a substantial part of win32, are not directly exposed via the APIs, we probably would have to think about a similar machine parsable documentation scheme here. AlphaBlend crashing msn messenger

Fix AlphaBlend() to extract the right part of the source DIB. (http://www.winehq.com/hypermail/wine-patches/2005/08/0331.html) After some regression testing, It looks like this patch is the one that breaks signing into msn messenger. I m not sure why, so Im interested in finding out why it happens. About stderr for usage messages

We are use stderr for print usage or info message in wine programs such as eject winedump winebuild wine main (dlls/kernel/process.c) It is broken behavior: info messages usually expected from stdout stream. AVI resources in shell32

When I started playing with Wine a few months ago, the first problem I ran into were missing AVI resources in shell32. Web searches indicated people asking about these resources over the past several years, but they are still missing. I have no artistic talents, so for my testing purposes I just "borrowed" the resources from a native version of the dll. Has anybody been working on adding these resources? Thanks, Phil

CreateProcess command line parsing

I am looking at dlls/kernel/process.cc:get_file_name that parses the command line. It seems to handle the case where the application name has spaces in it but the application name is not enclosed in double quotes. According to MSDN documentation, CreateProcess requires the app name(and the app name in the command line) to be enclosed in quotes if it has spaces in it. But wine seems to be extra intelligent and guess the app name using SearchPath in find_exe_file. I am looking for a test case for this, I am unable to find it in kernel/tests/process.cc. GetQueueStatus: unknown flag 0x4000

Hi, When running G-Ware[1] I get a lot of these: fixme:key:GetQueueStatus QS_xxxx flags (4000) are not handled Interestingly I couldn't find any information about what the flag 0x4000 is meant to be. Could that be another undocumented flag like QS_SMRESULT? The program works so it can't be that important :-) but I thought it's worth mentioning... request small changes to winecfg

Hi, now that winecfg is reaching maturity it is a great tool, but two things may merit a small change. 1/ emulate desktop is still at a "historic" size of 640,480 which at least on my screen is too small to display winecfg's natural height next time I run it. Would 600x800 be a better default? 2/ Adding dll overrides. On entering a dll name I have the habit of hitting the Enter key. This triggers the OK button and drops me back to the command line with the incomplete change being lost. (NO, I dont want an "are you sure..." message!) I dont know where I have this expectation from but certainly a habit I have formed using other software. Would it be more intuitive if the enter key was trapped by the editbox and triggered a click on the "Add" button? It certainly comes as a surprise when it exits winecfg. regards.

New ati driver problems

Hello, I've updated my fglrx driver yesterday, and I am seeing some weird problems with Direct3D. I don't know if this is a driver bug or regression at all. With battlefield 1942 and the old d3d8 engine, some in-game textures are white[1] or completely missing[2]. The menu and the HUD work fine. With Battlefield 1942 and the WineD3D patch there's no difference: The Menu and the HUD display fine, but the game graphics are completely white[3]. In Warcraft III, some textures are missing(Old D3D8 and new WineD3D). I don't know if this is a regression at all, the new fglrx version added some new functionality, namely VBOs. Maybe some new functionality is used, and it doesn't work correctly yet. Is anyone experiancing similar issues? All OpenGL games I've tried work fine, except of the Steam version of half-life, where GDI fonts are missing on buttons and in the main menu(The in-game graphics are fine). The new driver brought quite an performance improvement in some games(gl117 is faster), some games feel faster, like Warcraft III in OpenGL mode(I haven't checked the fps).
