Hi, This is a port of the ReactOS Internet Browser to Wine. I will not have time to mess with it so I figured I would send it here if anyone was interested. Its just a small wrapper around the IE control so if you don't have IE installed then it will use Wines shdocvw.dll and the Mozilla ActiveX Control. My plan was to convert it to C and then have it be the fallback case in the event you did not have a Unix browser listed in your registry. Then we (and by "we" I mean Newman) figures out a way to randomly the select the quotes and display them on the main page. Then just include the Microsoft quote with them. I think that would be neat and it would advertise a lot more. In completely unrelated news, I've been meaning to send out something in the next few days reminding people to book hotel rooms for Wineconf. There is still space available - if they told you otherwise please double check. March 17th is the last date for reserving a room there. Also, I need to sit down and spend some time looking over agenda ideas. If you have any ideas at all, or want to present something cool, let me know. - Brian

Describing at a high level what SERVER_START_REQ and SERVER_END_REQ do for the macro-phobic might be useful though. As far as documenting the server API, again I agree with you: it's a worthwhile task. There's even a todo list item for it assigned to Alexandre.. but I wouldn't hold my breath for him to provide something parseable by newbies. Put in other words the running_on_visible_desktop is not correct (enough). I've downloaded http://www.astro.gla.ac.uk/users/paulm/WRT/CrossBuilt/winetest-200503091000… and ran it (interactively of course) on my win98 and win2000 box. It doesn't start and complains with the error (as in the patch) "Tests must be run on a visible desktop". Paul.

Test suite, todo_wine and different kernels versions

Hallo, with kernel 2.6.11 PeekNamedPipe() works as expected. You've rewritten every function in uninstaller.c, as far as I can tell. Is there any reason you need to do that to convert to using a dialog? I think you may need to break it up even further to get it applied, but the final decision isn't mine. I'd encourage you to write a patch that only converts the window to a dialog, and get that applied first. When that is done, you can think about unicode conversion. Mike

Addition to winsock conformance test - select() server

Hi, We're working to add conformance tests to winsock, and we've currently added a test server that uses select(). Before we post to wine-patches, we'd appreciate any critiques/input. We ran gcov to see how much of dlls/winsock/socket.c we tested, and found: Before: 37.14% of 1839 lines executed in file socket.c After (select() server code): 41.16% of 1839 lines executed in file socket.c http://hkn.icsl.ucla.edu/~tom/socket.c.gcov.txt We'd also appreciate other targets to test. Currently we plan to add tests for sendto, recvfrom, and getservbyname. Hi, I now understand the purpose of SERVER_START_REQ et al, but now I'm in server/protocol.def and I'm trying to add a protocol definition for load_key. load_key is implemented in server/registry.c, but is not in server/protocol.def so, if I'm correct, I can't make a call to load_key from ntdll yet. I am trying to add load_key to protocol.def, but I don't know the semantics of this file. Is there any documentation available for this topic, or does anyone have any information that could be added to the docs? -- James Hawkins

wininet HTTP_HttpSendRequestW problem -- with correct attachment

Besides it doesn't guarantee that the buffer is large enough anyway since another thread may have changed the string in the meantime. Regression after ddraw surface locking patch

Hi, ZooTycoon 1 demo 'crashes' with: trace:ddraw:DIB_DirectDrawSurface_Blt (0x77e3b9e8)->((nil),(nil),(nil),01000400,0x80f510) trace:ddraw:DIB_DirectDrawSurface_Blt flags: DDBLT_COLORFILL DDBLT_WAIT First chance exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000294 in 32-bit code (0x17d7b350). This is because src = NULL and we do (line 517): if (This->locked || ((IDirectDrawSurfaceImpl *)src)->locked) { WARN(" Surface is busy, returning DDERR_SURFACEBUSY\n"); return DDERR_SURFACEBUSY; } Can I just surround this by: if (NULL != src) This fixes my problem. There is another potential problem around line 993. I've attached a patch, if it's correct I will send it to wine-patches. Cheers, Paul.

Hi, I ran valgrind on wineserver while running Ares Lite, and this is one of two memory leaks it caught: 34468 (14980 direct, 19488 indirect) bytes in 535 blocks are definitely lost in loss record 17 of 20 at 0x1B903575: malloc (vg_replace_malloc.c:130) by 0x8055FED: mem_alloc (object.c:73) by 0x805C85A: create_empty_region (region.c:565) by 0x806F90E: crop_region_to_win_rect (window.c:761) by 0x806FDA7: redraw_window (window.c:902) by 0x8071809: req_redraw_window (window.c:1682) by 0x8060E9A: call_req_handler (request.c:274) by 0x804F5E5: main_loop (fd.c:507) by 0x8053E51: main (main.c:139) Is this an issue that can/should be resolved? -- James Hawkins

(The latest release is still affected by the problem).
