LZCopy mantain the timestamp in expanded file

Recently, I have a problem installing a program and post a message in wine-devel, search bugzilla, and none results. The current implementation of LZCopy() only expand the file to new file, and after some tests I checked that the the window$ LZCopy mantain the modified date of expanded file the same of the original file. I do some tests, and after the patch, it runs correctly. Two font problems

I'm having what seem to be two unrelated font issues with a CAD program. The first is concerned with selecting a font. The program seems to use a fairly non-standard intreface for doing this - you can set font size in mm for example. When the dialog opens this message is printed to stdout: fixme:commdlg:CFn_WMInitDialog No founds found with truetype only, dropping flag. I am assuming that this is a case for s/founds/fonts/ or not? The dialog does give the option of TTFs, and previews them, although only very small, possibly the smallest size available. The second problem occurs when the program actually tries to add the specified text to the CAD drawing. This message is printed to stdout: err:font:XFONT_RealizeFont plf->lfHeight = -2048, Creating a 100 pixel font and rescaling metrics and a windows error style message box is produced that has the message "Error! GetGlyphOutline failed. Unable to get character outline.". The program is clearly trying to convert the text to a vector graphic so that it can treat it like any other shape, but failing. Should I file two bug reports about this? The software is commercial and so I can not provide a copy for anyone to reproduce this error.

MS OLE questions

Hi all, I was wondering whether anybody with experience working with microsofts ole implementation (win98 version) could answer these questions: Firstly, does anybody know what it does during thread detach? Its behaviour seems to vary according to, i dunno, the alignment of Mars and Jupiter or something. With a test app it destroys the hidden windows it seems to use for IPC, and terminates cleanly. With my IE-in-java app, it goes into a message loop, processes some messages then blocks waiting. It never drops out of the message loop. Secondly, does anybody know what is missing from Wines built in OLE implementation for it to be used for IE embedded? I've tried using it, and other than a couple of bugs in the GIT (which I will try and send a patch for soon), it seems to get stuck in ITypeInfo::Dispatch() and ends up with an E_NOTIMPL exception. Thirdly, why does MSOLE use hidden windows for communication? I've come across lots of gnashing of teeth in OLE/DCOM forums about this, people wondering why their app (and sometimes the whole system!) deadlocks if they don't service the message queue in threads that use OLE. Windows has had other forms of IPC for years, I can't see the logic behind using the limited and broken message passing scheme for it. Wierdly enough, wines built in OLE seems to work OK for iexplore.exe itself, which iirc simply embeds the ActiveX control like any other program. Hi, 1) How can i use winemenubuilder? it doesn't give any error. i try: # wine winemenubuilder "c:\\Notes 5.lnk" Where it set the menu? 2) I think to a new application to add to wine. This application help a to trasfer application from windows to wine. I mean the main problem is the key in the registry. If an application give u to select the application and that application make a reg file with the kay take from the registry for that application, it's more simple to trasfer that to a wine. 3) I'm new, and i try to start to understand how wine work, but the main problem is that i don't find something talk on that. 4) What can i use to read sgml? 5) there is a freeware game http://www.steffengerlach.de/freeware/xo1.zip that if i start like: # wine d:\\xo\xo.exe don't work but if i start that from winefile work correctly. Is there anyway this could be of use to WINEgcc? I figure not but I wanted to ask as it might not ever get merged in to GCC-HEAD. I dont think so but if anyone is still interested in SEH for WINE and Winelib its worth a look at least. Freetype libs in /usr/include/libs

A user notified me that even if his system has Freetype2 installed, Wine fails to detect that during configure, for he has installed it in /usr/local instead of /usr/X11R6. The patch below fixes this, but I'm not sure whether it's the right approach. If it is not, how shall we handle this, assuming /usr/local is a standard prefix which I think we should always consider? Wine for SolX86

Hi All, I am porting wine to solaris x86 platform. First wine didnot launch i had a problem with heap pointer then i applied a patch after applying this patch i was able to launch wine. Now i am validating wine with your GOLD and SILVER list mentioned in the site. I was able to run only winzip and filezilla. Rest of the applications is not launching. Currently i am trying to install AcrobatReader 5.0.5 but i am getting an error saying err:module:BUILTIN_LoadModule loaded .so but dll wineoss.drv still not found and the installation hangs. Word in Hebrew and Wine

Hi, I have a pretty good estimate of what needs to be done to get Word supported in Hebrew. The current problems have to do with Word calling "GetKeyboardLang" after each character, and using the result as a basis for interpreting each received character. Currently, this function just returns the system locale, which causes Word to assume each and every letter is a Hebrew one, even the English ones. The results are pretty catastrophic, as people have reported (typing "Hi there everyone" typically results in the screen showing "Hthere everyone i", with "yone" highlighted with green to say it has syntax correction to suggest. The correct is to replace "there" with "they're"). I have been itching to do an overhaul of the Wine keyboard handling for some time. I think the current scheme is overly complicated, and causes problems. This is a major task, but I may be able to recrute some local help. I am a bit worried, however, about the fact that some other people may also working on a similar task at the moment. I know Dmitry said in the past he is rennovating the keyboard a little, and I know codeweavers still hold a patch that will allow UTF-8 input locale to work. I would like to coordinate the effort. MAX_PALETTES

I was looking thru the website for something easy that is listed as a todo and saw the item for correcting arrays that are done like [256] instead of [MAX_PATH], etc.. Looking thru the sources, in d3d8_private.h MAX_PALETTES is defined as 256 and then used later in the file and I believe in other d3d8 files, while it isnt even mentioned in ddraw files, although almost identical functions are called.. Shellexecute, bug 22, and MSDN

Looking at: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/shellcc/pl… and then looking at our shlexec.c, I noticed one small difference between the 2 and was wonder if a bug should be filed on it.. In the MSDN docs, it says that if lpOperation is null: "For systems prior to Microsoft Windows 2000, the default verb is used if it is valid and available in the registry. If not, the "open" verb is used. For Windows 2000 and later systems, the default verb is used if available. If not, the "open" verb is used. If neither verb is available, the system uses the first verb listed in the registry." In wine's shlexec.c, if lpOperation is null, we only use the open verb, like so: if (lpOperation == NULL) /* default is open */ lpOperation = "open"; I think this could hinder certain programs, especially if someone would like it to do something besides open the file (like in the case of bug 22, where it is a link, not a file).. This could also be a problem if there is no application associated with the file, since we have no window/tool allowing the user to choose the app... I guess I should add that in the code for shlexec.c we do have handling for links, but it appears to not make it that far as of right now.. Heap APIS

Hi, In windows, there is APIs for Heap management (HeapCreate, HeapAlloc, ...). Are they implememted in wine? How? Is it just stubs on malloc? Or are they *really* implemented and working as secondary heaps? Thanks. -jec

Hi, I am trying to develop some win32 code wich would use services, ( ie. I would like to develop some code which could run as a win32 service ). I have been following the wine mailing list, but I am not aware of the status of services in wine and if an implementation is underway ? ( as far as I can tell they are not currently implemented ). All the machinery for the services seem's to be in wine, so I am wondering if there has been any attempts ? / regards, Lars Segerlund.

Francois, If I knew you were going to get into fixing single words that should be separate I would have started on this along time ago ;) - asks for a DLL, Wine does not simulate the existence of - nonexisting files. + asks for a DLL, Wine does not simulate the presence of + non-existent files.
