Linstview regression, big time

Since the work on the listview rewrite has started, the listview has regressed big time. Running Delorme's AAA MapNGo V4.0, the "Along the way" window HAS-A listview into which are inserted the items found. This used to work in the old code, but now nothing is shown. I know the items themselves are being inserted. What can I do to help on this? Would posting a debug message dump showing the list items being inserted be of use? I'm not a Windows programmer, so I don't know how quickly I could actually come up to speed on the code itself, but I am quite willing to try code out and report on the success or failure of it.

GetCommandLine

I have an app that starts 2 other processes using CreateProcess. When one of these new proceses calls GetCommandLine, an empty string is returned (the correct string is returned for the original process). I tried looking into it, but I think this part of Wine is a little over my head. Any thoughts/fixes for this, anyone? -Steve

internet explorer install fixed in 1007, how?

Hello all. I've been doing some testing of the recent releases, 0904 and 1007, and I've found that in 0904, quicken installs, but IE does not. Unfortunately, in 1007, IE installs but quicken does not. Does anyone know what patch fixed internet explorer for 1007? Lotus Dominno Administrator console under Wine

Hello I use Lotus Domino Administrator under wine. When I try to see the console of a server, almost everything except numbers in the console appear as "???" so I can read nothing. Has anyone got the same problem? Does anyone know how to solve it? I really dont want to use the program under Windows. Hello, i am trying to install the german phonebook "Das Telefonbuch Für Deutschland Frühjahr 2001" on wine20021007. The installation stops with the error from the subject (see the attached trace with --debugmsg +relay,+loaddll,+ntdll,+reg,+file). But when i add +msg to the debug switches i get across this point. With +msg the trace stops with "wine client error:831db08: sendmsg: Socket operation on non-socket" inside CreateThread. Does someone know what is wrong? Thanks for help Stefan

Australian Tax Program now working, but WINHLP32.EXE fails

Hi, I've been using wine cvs for a while now, and trying to run the Australian Tax Office's ETax2002 program for preparing tax returns. Up until yesterday, it would fail with an illegal memory access, but yesterday it started working! I have not identified which patch fixed it, but the program uses flat scroll bars and list (tree) views. I have now used the program to complete one (non-lodgement) tax return, and am part way through preparing another. The ETax2002.EXE program appears to work very well! However, I am unable to utilise the on-line help, which is provided in winhlp format. When I try to run wine winhlp32.exe etax2002.hlp wine "C:\\Windows\\winhlp32.exe" \ "C:\\Program Files\\etax2002\\etax2002.hlp" I get a message dialog saying Error while reading the help file `"C:\Program Files\etax2002\etax2002.hlp"' The WINE help program then displays an empty window. So it looks like more work is needed upon the help file viewer, but I suppose this is on the todo list anyway. I am able to access the help using the printed material from the tax office, which is identical to what is in the help file. Thanks for all of your work on Wine! Ben Stanley.

keyboard errors

Hi! When running MS Word 97 I get the next error messages when I try to write some of the Hungarian characters. DeviceIOControl and ioctl() argument passing

Hallo, in the Xilinx Webpack toolchain, programming external devices is needed. For that purpose, impact (the program to download the configuration program) accesses the hardware through a "windrvd" (*1) sys-file (www.jungo.com) via DeviceIoControls. There are programmers for the parallel port and for USB. For using wine to program the devices, this is a showstopper. However windrvr is cross platform, and a Linux version is available and windrvr customers probably can distribute the binary kernel module (*2). In the easiest of all possible worlds, a simple translation of the DeviceIOControl calls to the appropriate Linux ioctl()s would be needed. However things get complicated, as the header file, defining the Interface is only available with some form of NDA. It is to be expected, that the arguments to the DeviceIOCobtrol/ioctl call are the same. If we don't need to rearrange the argument, simple argument passing could be possible, and no knowledge of the headers would be needed. Comments welcome. (*1): I know that the windrvr concept is breaks all unix security concept... (*2): Does anybody know how Linux windrvr is distributed to the final customers? As a pure binary kernel module, binding the user to some kernel or with public open source interface so the user may recompile the kernel? Wine problem

Ac wine programers !! I am from a software company and we have a problem, our software communicate with a keyboard which has a display this software is make using Delphi (by borland) and for cominicate with the keyboard we use assembler code , wile we run the software in windows it work perfectly but when we try to use it in Linux using the wine it dosen´t work (the keyboard display). Need help tracing listview(?) problem

When I go to install StarCraft with wine latest cvs (and for a while), when it brings up the list of directories for you to choose where to install it to, the only thing shown is My Computer. There is no + to expand my computer and there are no drives/directories listed. The only way is to know where you want it installed and type it in at the top. I am going to try to do a regression test tomorrow after I get off work, but before I do, I want to try to trace it with debug messages. I think this is caused by _fclose reporting the EOF error. You may need in some cases to add a callback for the 32-bit code; for instance in that case you could have some kind of pLoadWin16Driver function pointer in the 32-bit code that is initialized to NULL, and when the 16-bit part is loaded it makes it point to one of its routines. Problem with X11 driver

Hi, I have a problem with the X11 driver (it seems), related to bug 1027. When I run my program (Fitch.exe), wine gets stuck. All threads do a WaitForMultipleObjects, the main thread a WaitMessage. And I get an error err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x40af4b04 "x11drv_main.c: X11DRV_CritSection" wait timed out, retrying (60 sec) tid=080b8780 I read the FAQ about critical section errors, and it helped my to get the following calling stack: KERNEL32.DLL.WaitForMultipleObjectsEx+0x16a X11DRV.DLL.MsgWaitForMultipleObjectsEx+0xf3 USER32.DLL.MsgWaitForMultipleObjectsEx+0x14f USER32.DLL.WaitMessage+0x22 WINAWT.DLL.PrintEmbeddedFrame+0x7ca JAVAI.DLL.mmiFrameMethod+0x3625 JAVAI.DLL.mmiFrameMethod+0xb60 COMDLG32.DLL.PrintDlgExW+0x2a2dc0 JPEG.DLL..reloc+0x12e2cb9b *** Invalid address 0xc308c483 (IBMJITC.DLL..reloc+0x1df5f482) (Indeed, Fitch is written in Java - however, unfortunately it is not possible to run it directly under Linux. When I set "Synchronous" = "Y" in the x11drv section of config, everything works, but *very* slowly. Sometimes it takes 15 seconds until a mouse click leads to the desired action. I also played with the other x11drv settings in the config file, but without effect. The documentation says that one should set "Synchronous" = "Y" for debugging purposes. But how proceed then? (in C-style) The last few changes are for being able to compile the code with VC++ under native WIN32. This compiler needs the include file <malloc.h> for declaration of alloca(). My questions are following: How can a game actually detect if OpenGL is availabel? I'm not exactly understanding how tribes fail to see my opengl support when other games and demos work fine. I've read alot of other games suffering from the "touch the keyb and game quits" bug, but so far neither Winex or Wine has found any solution. Does anyone else know anything about this bug? native Dinput.dll does make it playable but it's not a valid solution in the long run. This is my output while starting tribes: (running Wine Tribes.exe, all builtin) fixme:console:SetConsoleCTRLHandler (0x60a620,1) - no error checking or testing yet fixme:dinput:IDirectInputDevice2AImpl_EnumObjcets (this=0,40291d88,0x50ec98,0x48e09980,0000000): stub! fixme:dsound:IDirectSound3DListenerImpl_CommitDeferredSettings stub (last repeated forever) Any ideas? Error message

Every time I try to start wine with (for example) wine sol.exe it gives me an error message: "wineserver: fcntl /tmp/.wine-user/server-xxxx-xxxx/lock: Invalid argument" In debug level 2 it says: sock_init: shutdown() causes POLLHUP Anyone know what this can be? Thanks. Dmitry.

Wine does not see any printers available - using cupsys
