STACK LIMITS: error on lauch program

Hi friends Somme programs like Delphi3 and a instaled version od iMesh return a error: "err:seh:EXC_DefaultHandling Exception frame is not in stack limits => unable to dispatch exception." and dont run. what can i make to do run my application...? what is this error and where are is located in wine..? Getting CUPS printer to work in wine

After updating to the current CVS I get the following error message: trace:psdrv:PSDRV_CreateDC (WINEPS Printer LPT1: (nil)) To use WINEPS you need to install some AFM files. I believe this may be why I can't get printing to work. But do I really need AFM files to get printing to work? The printing doc says you don't need them for type 1 fonts. I've attached a trace of the printing errors just in case this isn't the cause of the problem. TIA for the help, Josh

RtlGetNtVersionNumbers

Hello everybody, I was searching Google for info about RtlGetNtVersionNumbers and I came across this message, http://www.winehq.com/hypermail/wine-users/2001/12/0488.html, posted on wine-users. Unfortunately, the attachment is not there. Does anyone know what happened to this patch? It doesn't appear to have been sent to wine-patches nor did it make it into the CVS. Perhaps the patch was incorrect as he said his implementation might be off. If this is the case, does anyone have more info about RtlGetNtVersionNumbers? Thanks, Josh

WINE Performance tweaking and known bottlenecks

What options/tricks/techniques can I use to enhance performance under WINE. I am trying to get Total Annihilation to run smoothly on a K6-2 233MHz machine, it runs and is getting close to playable. The only unusual thing is that the framerate is the same at 1024x768 as in 640x480. What is likely to be the bottleneck and what can I do about it? I'm willing to go into the code if neccessary. I have limited programming ability but I am an exceptionally fast learner.

Endian-ness?

Hi, I appear to have hit a little endian-ness problem. Can anyone point out what I am doing wrong or how to fix it please? olefont.c #includes wtypes.h This defines a structure as #ifdef BIG_ENDIAN. We hit this case and the parameters are defined in the wrong order as they are passed in from a windows dll. We hit is because endian.h #defines BIG_ENDIAN if __USE_BSD is defined, and features.h #defines _BSD_SOURCE and subsequently __USE_BSD. This is on Mandrake 8.2 if it makes a difference. Hello, this is my first real patch for Wine. It implements the SystemParametersInfo SPI_GETDESKWALLPAPER action and fixes SPI_SETDESKWALLPAPER so it updates the Wallpaper entry in the registry. (Wine Bug-Tasklet #461) I've also included a simple test for these two actions. Infinite loop in winedebug

During an installation, wine crashed and went into the debugger, which proceeded to go into an infinite loop. This is with current CVS. Hallo, to my knowledge, viewing the patch contend can at the moment only be done by webpages with an address like http://cvs.winehq.com/patch.py?id=XXX, where XXX can only be known from the postings from wine-cvs(a)winehq.com. I would propose that we create another page, where all the patches are listed with their subject ( like "wine/server thread.c" for "http://cvs.winehq.com/patch.py?id=1024708836163791355983452"), the subject being a link to the real patch and the newest patches added to the top of the patch. Question about printer support in wine.

Hello everybody, I'm trying to set up my printer in wine in order to test SmartForms and LogicWorks (they both are helplessly out of order without a default printer). The documentation says that if you have CUPS installed, all printing options are autodetected regardless of .ini or registry entries. I have cups, libcups, and libcups-devel 1.1.0 installed and I'm running Mandrake 8.1. Configure is able to find the CUPS files and enables CUPS printing support in wine. But when I run either SmartForms or LogicWorks, it says that a default printer could not be found. Is the documentation correct, or am I missing something? I'm sorry, I probably should have posted this question to a different list, but I'm too lazy to go elsewhere. TIA, Josh

Regression errors ...

Hi, Last nights patch for DRIVE_FindDriveRoot: http://cvs.winehq.com/patch.py?id=1024614786458303934502513 caused two regression errors in dlls/kernel/tests/path.c at lines 212 and 672 ("GetShortPathNAmeA did not return an 8.3 path" and "GetShortPathNameA did not keep relative directory" respectively) BTW, the TODO test (line 2435) in dlls/oleaut32/tests/vartest.c succeeds. GDI patch for Acad. Please feedback !

Below there is a patch which makes AutoCAD R14 work under wine. The patch involves (patch1.diff) some calculation for Bitmaps drawn in negative-y-axis (i.e. bottom-left is 0,0) windows. I just found that solution by trying. Therefore, the patch, may cause trouble to other apps (mostly drawing - CAD ones). *Please* try this patch and report if any app (just any!) mis-behaves with it. If you have any other solution for the same point, please tell me. The file 'patch2.diff' has one more suggestion, concerning NULL object handles. This should only introduce a minor speedup and suppress a warning message, which made gdi debugging little hard.

How do I obtain GUIDs for socket transports?

Hi, I am currently trying to create a "clean" implementation of WSAEnumProtocols and friends. Eventually WSASocket, WSADuplicateSocket, getsockopt etc. will support the WSAPROTOCOL_INFO structs correctly. Here is a question: Windows has a GUID assigned to each protocol. "uuids.h" contains a large number of wine-UUIDs - how were these constructed? How should I build mine? We are not talking about random GUIDs here. My NT box shows e.g. e70f1aa0-ab8b-11cf-8ca300805f48a192 for MS TCP/IP, 11058240-be47-11cf-95c800805f48a192 for MS IPX, 2c3b17a0-c6df-11cf-95c800805f48a192 for MS Appletalk. Should I simply copy these for wine, or change them somehow? wine can't find regedit.exe.so when it is not on the path

wineinstall fails because wine can't find regedit.exe.so. Obviously, the wine source directory does not exist in path of just created config file. After the wineistall failure .wine directory with config file are created.
