Hmm, yeah, maybe. I've also suspected these functions lately with some program, but I quickly went on to check for another cause of the failure. Seems like it may really have been the file time functions, though... Well, Oct. 08 2001, 16:48:48 vs. Oct. 08 2001, 21:48:48 sounds like a 5 hour difference to me... (which almost has to be a bug, since it'd be pretty amazing if such an accurate difference of exactly 5 hours was by coincidence) Just assuming that the two dates are supposed to match, of course... Patch for lotus (resubmit)

The attached patch (by Toby Haynes I think) has not made it into CVS and I was wondering what needs to be done to make it accepatable. I know that it is a hack but it makes lotus work. Problems with the new -DNO_LIBWINE on i386-mingw

Should I need to build libwine if I'm just building tools, programs and dlls? I have no need of wineserver for the mingw port but I will need it for the cygwin port. x error when multiple wine processes running

In testing the dreamweaver installer, I keep getting these errors: err:font:AddFontFileToList Already loaded font L"Wingdings 3" L"Regular" X Error of failed request: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter) Major opcode of failed request: 15 (X_QueryTree) Resource id in failed request: 0x2c00014 Serial number of failed request: 63 Current serial number in output stream: 63 when I do a ps -A | grep wine I see that there are three wine processes running and two wineservers. Doing a killall wine allows me to run the app again. Does anyone know why this is happening? I've also seen other X errors after a crashed wine app where the x error is invalid window parameter but the opcode is X_CreateWindow or X_ChangeWindowAttributes. The Component Categories Manager

I have been playing with getting a large application made with VB6 and using many third-party ActiveX controls to work with Wine. I am currently having a problem with the absence of COMCAT.DLL and The Component Categories Manager which is ostensibly implemented in it. In fact, Windows implements it in OLE32.DLL; COMCAT.DLL has do-nothing stubs for the registration functions and forwards DllGetClassObject to OLE32.DLL. The MSDN documentation for The Component Categories Manager seems very straightforward; it documents ICatRegister and ICatInformation, which I believe I could implement. Since I've not contributed to Wine before, and just recently joined the digested list, I want to check the following things: * Is anyone else working on this at the moment? * Is there a major technical reason this can't be done yet? * Is there some other reason for me not to work on this soon? * How should the source for this new functionality be organized? * Is there a standard (or exemplary) way to implement IEnumXXXX? I'll be needing IEnumCATID, IEnumCLSID, and IEnumCATEGORYINFO. * What should I do when I think I have working code?

native user32 dll

I'm still trying to fix aol so it can communicate with the web proxy, and I think I've narrowed down the problem to user32.dll, kernel32.dll, and ws2_32.dll. Is it possible to use the native user32.dll? I know kernel and ws3_32 don't work native. I found this: http://wine.codeweavers.com/docs/wine-user/dll-overrides.shtml "user, user32 Window management and standard controls. It was possible to use Win95's native versions at some point (if all other DLLs that depend on it, such as comctl32 and comdlg32, were also run native). However, this is no longer possible after the Address Space Separation, so leave at builtin." and I was wondering if it's still true. thanks michael

As we go the NT-way, this is probably depreciated. - Usage of SHAllocEx Probably requires support in the remote application to lock the passed handle, which is not the case for winhlp32.exe I could also see the possibility to inform the message-packer about the need to pack the WinHelp structure when RegisterWindowMessage is called. What other possibilities do other people see? Help and ideas appreciated. Hello All, I hope that all of you are doing well today. Recently, I have been doing some searching on the web and have come across different verions of Wine and am not sure how they compare to each other as far as advancements. I have found Wine (here), Rewind, and also WineX. could someone please tell me about the differences and also which might be the most advanced and stable? thanks in advance, Lonnie
