unable to compile on x86_64 platform

hey,

i'm trying to compile wine on my machine (ver. 2005-01-11) but 
./configure doesnt get too far...

error:

currently running gentoo.
kernel version 2.6.9-gentoo-r14.
glibc version 2.3.4.2004-11-02.
gcc version 3.4.3-r1 compiled with multilib which works as far as i know
