Alexandre Julliard: Der Kern ist ziemlich stabil und wir haben große Fortschritte bei Installern gemacht, so dass sich die meisten Anwendungen installieren lassen sollten. Dies ist das Hauptziel für 1.0. Derzeit arbeiten wir noch daran, die Spieleunterstützung zu verbessern und ich warte mit der Veröffentlichung von 1.0, bis diese ebenfalls stabil ist. Spiele sind einer der Hauptgründe, weshalb Leute sich Wine anschauen. Also muss die Version 1.0 in dieser Hinsicht so gut wie möglich sein.
Translation: Q. Since the first beta in October 2005 appeared, there have only been 0.9.x releases instead of a version 1.0. What's the current status of the project, how close are you to something that you would call 1.0?
A. The core is quite stable, and we've made great progress with installers; most applications can now be installed. That's the main goal for 1.0. We're also working on improving support for games, and I'm waiting for that to stabilize before I announce 1.0. Games are one of the main reasons people look at Wine, so version 1.0 has to be as good as possible at running them.
