windows file dialogs with unix file path

Hi all,

Back in Nov 2004, there was a brief discussion about extending the 
Windows file dialogs to allow browsing the Unix file system.
Does anyone know if this have been implemented yet?
If not, any suggestions on how to implement it?

I am porting a windows application to linux using winelib, and using 
unix file path rather than window file path would be desired.
