This year it's not possible to communicate with the GSoC Students over the GSoC-Project site. I guess the reason is to force communication with the community. Thus I suggest to move the discussions to wine-devel and prefix them with [GSoC]

It seems more likely to me it has to do with the new GSoC website being "new" and generally lacking.
Anyway, I assume the patch submission requirement (mentioned on https://wiki.winehq.org/Summer_Of_Code) is still valid, right? I suggest the applicants who haven't submitted patches to Wine yet to work on it sooner rather than later.
