I used winemaker on the source, then added msvcrt.dll to the spec.

[whit@giftie cat]$ echo 1.txt >'1.txt'
[whit@giftie cat]$ ./cat
1.txt
[whit@giftie cat]$ echo high their >'1.txt'
[whit@giftie cat]$ ./cat
high their
