just cd to interface/addons and place the hack there it should then load with the minimap turned off.
Somehow just hiding the minimap is not ennough for Wine (it is for cedega). I use this (well, an edit of the cosmos files) to get the game working in cedega.
But for wine there is something going wrong before you can hide the minimap with an interface script.
